Are they always so damn slow to make official moves?

This is true in my experience. Lots of showing off in a safe way in order to get the girl to make the first move. And in such an indirect way... talking to other people happily to make it look like they like someone else, so you get jealous, etc.

They don't want to come out of that crab shell, expose themselves and get hurt. Sadly they can miss out on connecting with a great person.

I could be wrong about this, but if you're dropping hints that you like them, you may have to make them more clear so they feel more sure about making a move.

@rapunzelsoldierfish seriously everything you wrote I've experienced with them too.

I've had so many Cancer men act more interested in other women in front of me only to get my attention. My Pluto susses it out immediately. That particular move is super obnoxious though and not a quality I want in a partner... go sideways all you want, but what comes to mind is Elsa's heat-seeking missile theory. I have Moon Venus Jupiter in Aries after all.

@belladonna Us Aries heavy people don't have the patience, right? 🤣 I'm an Aries sun and Cancer behaviors can mind-boggle me, yet they're interesting at the same time. I think my Pisces moon comes in and starts to see through it.

The cancer guy I knew would act shy and have shaky hands when we talked. But he would draw things on the whiteboard at work relating to what we had talked about recently, particular things he knew I liked. We talked about astrology? Bam, astrology stuff on the board. He was skilled at it and wanted to show off, only on the days I would come work at his school (I'd come unannounced and nothing on the board).

I've heard Cancers have a big soft spot for their moms, so maybe his mom really liked his artwork as a kid.

@rapunzelsoldierfish yeah, it's frustrating because I am really drawn to Cancer men, definitely some of my best physical relationships as well. I'm a Plutonic Taurus with Scorp, but so often their style initially with dating goes against everything that makes me as a woman feel wanted/special.

I was very attracted to one I connected with through a dating app and we had a really strong rapport at first...he asked when are we meeting without ever setting a date 🙄 and then he clearly got butthurt because eventually I deleted his number thinking he wasn't serious... so when we picked back up, he called me out for via his voice and he sounded butthurt for sure. However, I didn't catch it at thet time (only after the convo). We speak in another language together but his accent is from a different region that is more difficult for me as a non-native speaker to understand and so of course, I misunderstood and didn't explain my reasoning. Instead it was like I blew it off haha, but inadvertently so. I don't want a million #s saved from guys from these apps that I am not going to meet. Amid that convo he asked again, when are we going to meet without setting a date...

so it's either his game for validation/attn from women (with no real interest in meeting) or he retreated back into his shell... but either way, I give up.

@belladonna I’ve heard getting butthurt and expecting you to know why is a Cancer man thing to do, so not surprising! I wonder if Cancer women are just more vocal about these things - in my experience that seems to be the case.

I wonder if the physical aspect of a relationship with a Cancer is better because they’re usually so emotional? It’s like, your emotional needs are being met as well?

@rapunzelsoldierfish that could be true, but for me personally I think it's very compatible energy with my Taurus-Scorpio, there's a lot of attraction/chemistry.

He may be making moves but they're sideways, like a crab. If you're enormously interested, you might want to invite him to dinner at your home.  That's Cancer comfort zone. It means a lot to a Cancer, generally speaking.

@elsa As a Taurus, I love hosting but we haven't met in person yet, so it's looking more like it's not going to happen at all.

Cancer and Pisces men like people to figure out their motives. Mind readers, in other words. Some people like the challenge posed by this. Others, who like forwardness, get exasperated.

@lislioness haha well said. I'd say with my Aries it's both a challenge (which I like) and also incredibly irritating (the indirectness).

The Pisces I have encountered are less confusing or frustrating than the cancer crab dance.

I'm Aries rising with Sun and Mars conjunct in Leo. I didn't attract Cancer men. I can't recall ever dating one. I'm waaaaaay too forward for them, lol.

Cancers make their actions obvious for a split second then they retreat and change the tune. All while still having that motive.. just feel as if they think they expose too much  then they need to back up assess how you react to them pulling back AND play around with it til they feel safe to come back out that shell.

BOY THEY ARE FRUTRATING but if you get through to one its the greatest thing! Once they are yours its hard to get rid of them Smile

Alot of their changeability is due to the Moon rulership - as it passes through each sign day by day it affects the state of being considerably. I've seen a Cancer Moon person morph and change like this quite dramatically. I have Mars and Saturn in Cancer, I do often forget to note where the Moon is and reflect on how I'm feeling.
