Responding to this by @aspire

*Continuing this site?”

Hopefully this is just a passing mood! This site is so important to so many. Totally understand your thinking this thought, but hope you have let it go by now."

@aspire It's not a feeling and I'm not sure you understand.  The big search engine has phased out blogs about 90%.   There is no sense writing things no one will read. They do not want anyone independent. They want everyone on these controlled platforms. There is nothing I can do.  It's like having a restaurant and you've been picked and placed in the desert with no roads in or out.  You're going to go out of business.

This is way virtually no one new ever shows up anymore. This site does not exist.

I am just another small business getting killed.  So I might just be a newsletter. The site costs money (and time). It's constantly attacked while also being deserted.

The traffic to this site is tightly controlled; held to an exact (narrow) range.  So if I write a newsletter and people come here, no traffic will be sent to this site until they leave. This is the straightjacket I am in and have been in for about three years.  And it just keeps getting tighter. Ultimately I will be crushed.

I pay quite a bit for a site that has been removed from the map.  I cannot grow. I can only die. It's demoralizing and demotivating.  The game is rigged and I am telling you, no independents will survive.

Just do an image search and look at what pulls up. Does it look like the real internet to you? The one where regular people snap pics of their regular kids and put them up?

The internet is now "tv" and regular people are not allowed to be on it. I don't care about fake following numbers say. What I'm telling you is real. You cannot have a platform.

I have deleted large amounts of content in order to try to get my costs down but I can't manage it because I have to defend against attacks all day. Lots of attacks and virtually no support. What do you think is going to happen?

But I'm telling you, every image you see will have to be approved by ai (already the case).  So if you write for these ptb... well it's why all the posts sound the same.

Case in point - I have written about Pluto the the 12th, profoundly. Same with Neptune MC and many other things. But I cannot be found in search except by some fluke. Just veneer stuff is accessible.  They are turning everyone in to veneer brains.  Think about it.  All you get is 1" thick.

See, I can have this deep content but what's the point when it can't be found? You have to type "elsa" after any query in order to find this site; it's been that way for more than five years.  But you have to know there is an "elsa" to do that.

Then when people get here, they do not realize how much content there is on this site because the internet is not deep anymore, it's shallow.  You have to think about what I'm saying if this is new to you.  It's all factual. We are socially controlled, utterly. Interesting and original; independent theories and thinking are out. Rubberstamp nothingness is in. Just junky distraction. IN THE BOX thinking, puleeese!

Problem with that is if I conform, there is no reason to hire me and it won't help anyway because they already have plenty of reliable conformists.

Years ago I said I would be replaced by AI. At this point, it's unavoidable short of divine intervention. I don't count that out.

I thought of something else to say...

Astrology is potentially quite harmful.  Eclipse! Eclipse!  Be afraid!  Be afraid!  Oh no, crap!  Mercury is Rx. Nobody breathe!

This kind of drama causes angst which causes people to make purchases... not necessarily of astrology but whatever purchases.

This site is and always has been about helping people. I have enjoyed myself!  But it's been a place where people can gather and make friends and help and comfort each other and learn astrology.

I am personally interested in helping people, in consultation for example. I truly, deep down, hope to help people find what they need to reach "higher ground", where they define what that term means.

Clearly, I am into tactics. For whatever reason, I cannot define, I happened to learn astrology and I know how to apply it for a positive outcome. In my world, it provides an insane advantage.

Take my newsletter. If someone can tell you there are two days of angst ahead, you are far less likely to invest in it (in the chaos, I mean). But this does not sell purses and makeup or anything else. It actually helps people.

Let's say they skip the chaos, once. This opens the door for them to learn to skip it always.  At that point, they're empowered.

Do you really think this internet is for YOU?  Do an image search (on anything) and look again.  If you can't see it now, you'll see it eventually.

Thank you Elsa for laying it all out. I have read bits of this in your posts over the recent years, but this is the most thorough articulation of your situation. I get it. Well, I get that I can't completely get it since I am not sitting in your chair day after day doing this.

I say I get it, but I still have questions so maybe I don't completely get it. I hope I don't piss you off (I know you have Libra and I have Aries) so please understand my intent is to understand and maybe even help you/elsaelsa to continue and thrive.

The phrase "I don't want to die on that hill" popped into my mind when I read your post. At some point, a person has had enough and though they don't *want* to die on that hill, they say the hell with it and throw in the towel. Not necessarily because they don't think that is a noble hill, but they just don't have the resources to continue. They are just gutted, and they let go. It seems like you have been giving us signals that you are close to depleted in this fight.

This reminds me of a time we were buying a car, right when the internet first was kicking in.  My husband had researched the car and knew what their cost was and what we could pay. He would pay that price and no more. The car salesman did all the usual stuff: I have to ask my manager, my manager says no but you can have it at this price and we'll throw in undercoating and a cd deck, blablabla. It went on forever, for hours. It was getting late. They kept saying, "We don't make any money at that price! We can't do it!" Finally he said, "Then you shouldn't do it. If you can't make any money at that price of course you shouldn't do it. Tell me no, and we can all go home. But I happen to know you will make money at that price and you can do it." We got the car at my husband's price.

So maybe it has come to that point? We don't know what your resources are, so we don't know if you at the point where you just have to say "No". Of course we do not want you to be depleting yourself on our behalf!! But we want this car/forum!

Here's what gets me: there is so much money out there for astrology these days. One astrologer does a kickstarter at the end of every year to finance himself. He made well over $300,000. Then there are other astrologers who use paytreeon, and if you calculate the subscribers vs the numbers on their calls/youtubes it is a staggering amount of money. Plus they are doing consultations, conferences, podcasts, YouTube channels. Someone did a fundraiser for a book, she asked for a few thousand and got a fortune. And none of these have your depth of experience. (Although some are pretty good, they are still relative newbies.)

So this is a long way to say, we who are here all value this place. I'm sure a decent core of us would follow you if you morphed into something new. (Maybe some of us could help research alternatives? Maybe you've got a 'board' or a ? what is the word for that small group around the Pope? ) We would certainly deeply mourn the loss of this safe harbor!  But the last thing any of us want here is for you to be harmed, damaged or depleted by the struggle to keep it afloat.

With love and appreciation,

aspire

It may be that the 'noble hill' is the idea of keeping this free for everyone. I respect that, but I wonder if there is a way to do a subscription where those who can pay, do; so that will keep it free for those who can't afford?

@aspire doing a subscription will not work. It has the same affect as what is already going on and has been for about 10 years; it's called "attrition". You have to have new people to survive.  People leave and they also die. New people come in but not anymore and if I lock the door or create a barrier, it will get even worse.

I also don't want to be beholden to a fixed schedule where I have to produce what people have paid for. I know what that's like from teaching classes. It's demanding!

To make it work, I would needs tons of subscribers. I would have to quit consulting - I would be a writer at that point. I like consulting! But there are times I have clients stacked up for days.  I would "owe" content if I had subscribers.  There would be a time conflict with this.

I would also be beholden to people paying for content, which would get me bitched out even more than already occurs. I actually help clients. It would not be a good trade.

Also, I do not plan to die (outside of natural causes). I do have clients and they do refer me. If not, I'd have been gone long ago.

Last, keep in mind, you are telling me what to do but this is a site for the collective. I have written non-stop for 23 years. I have shared so much here, it's ridiculous. When do other pitch in?

I am never retweeted, shared on facebook, linked, etc.  I start most of the threads; many are ignored.  Now you want me to do some other things? I'm a worker, yes. But human.

This is another issue. I can't compete with the promoted and/or AI content done by a machine. And frankly, most people are to a point right now, they can't tell the difference.  All day long, I see people point at things and say, look at the heart and soul. They can't see through the veil!

Point here is I sell something and I have to please the customer. If my content is free, I am free and people are also free to come and go.  I don't find people all that easy to please though I do try, having Libra and all.

The point here is we've gone from a playing field to an unlevel playing field to a strip on the sideline which will evaporate, maybe tomorrow.

So lets say I have my paid list. It will evaporate within a year.  A real person is not a machine. People are used to machines.  Go to reddit. 80% bot content and virtually no one knows it.  Fake real people recommending goods and sites and various things to buy.  people just don't notice.

@aspire I am not mad but you are assuming 300K is real.  This is not an assumption I would make.

It's like telling a young person they can go to Hollywood and be in the movies. Probably not.  You think it's happened and can happen because the stars have fake back stories.

My mistake. I misread your meaning. I took your comment to be a kind of low key request for help: “Hey, y’all - looking for some insight here! Wondering if I should be continuing the site?” Instead, I now see it as more a statement of fact; you’re thinking about what’s on your mind: continuing the site?  Or not?

I get your commitment to being free and I totally respect the price you are paying for it.
Sorry for any #*@%&$!,.

Happy Jupiter in Aries!

@aspire Yes, I do want help. But what you are saying won't work in reality. I don't know how I sounded but that is what I am trying to say. I know things like this, I have been in this for 2 decades +. I also work with people who fill me in on things, you'd be surprised

I'm like a mom and pop restaurant with all the roads that lead to it, closed down. Raising my prices (by charging) will not help the situation.  Bringing traffic in by word of mouth, will.

This blog got traction on the internet, 23 years ago with the help of one Gemini with a Scorpio moon.  True fact, her name is Lupa.

See, I have clients and they refer clients and this is how the blog survives.  So people say they like it here but I don't see it. This used to be a hopping place. We could celebrate Christmas and gift each other.

Whoever was here... you may remember, I welcomed people five times a day at least. They got here by search - my content was indexed. It still is but they won't show it to you. You can see how when they take that away, I must find another way.

I am doing everything I can do as an individual. It's not about charging for money. My consultations have supported this blog all the way back. It is always been how the bills are paid. If there is traffic here, the site is fine, Business takes care of itself - I do the work and no one has to pay.  But when they take the traffic; the flow of energy; and it is sustained for months and then years and years, there is only one thing that can happen.

I am one person. I cannot be a crowd of kind, friendly, funny people who help each other in whatever way. I can pay for this place, so long as I have customers.  It's the like BAR right.  But if no one patronizes the bar then there are no customers and no bar.

If you (or anyone) wants this bar to remain, then you can't be passive.  If no one steps into help, I have no choice but to conclude people prefer the major platforms, cute stuff, and I will accept this - I already have. I'm just letting you know so it won't be a shock... and to avert it if this is possible which I truly feel is out of my hands.  Because I am thinking of how to best do this. Last night I was looking at tax brackets and such... take X hit, pay X less %?

Put yourself in my place. If no one wants you, you go away. You blow away.

One more thing. Billionaires work together. The public posturing is theatrics.

The little people refuse to do the same and so they get squashed. It will always be this way until and unless the little people not only catch on but ACT.
