I starting used it during the pandemic to stay in contact with friends and family. When I log off I often notice I feel bad. It's hard to pinpoint why.

There's some people on I feel make cryptic comments directed at me. When I ask them about it they deny it. It all feels so toxic.

Does anyone else feel the same? Maybe I need to stop using it.

Not referring to this forum. This forum is one of the few places I like posting.

yes. I experience the exact same and that is why I made the choice to leave it several yrs ago. and the few times I peruse it at random for a variety of random reasons... I find myself with the same toxic feelings. So, it's a personal choice that many others disagree with, but I find I am healthier without it which only I can know for myself... and honestly, I rarely ever think about it now that it's out of the picture.

but I will say- if you're serious about leaving it, I'd suggest being very firm in your commitment (having decided it's better for your mental health or whatever)... because the opposition is real and odd. It's like when I stopped drinking despite not being an alcoholic... many did not like this, granted I feel like with my Pluto Scorpio ASC / Sun , I experience some weird Pluto mirror stuff with people.

That's just my two cents from experience.

Thanks for sharing your experience.  Good advice. Yes, I faced the same opposition when I quit drinking - I wasn't an alcoholic either and people couldn't understand why I wouldn't take a drink.  I do intend to leave it.

Yes, I am always in conflict about getting rid of it.

Its a great way to keep in touch with family in friends. But it also takes value away from my everyday life, its draining, and I dont want to be those people living in social media... not living REAL life.

Its not good overall - yet I still use it

Maybe in your case the benefits outweigh the negative.

I think this is a good pt in determining whether to stay or go...  and was sort of my point about other people's opinion (including people closer to me) about my rationale... and is ultimately only something you can decide for yourself. -  do the benefits outweigh the negative? and in my case, no, so I removed it from my life.

mind you, my pt also was that many people project *their* opinion about benefits outweighing negative.. it's their perspective on it, see, rather than is this really something that benefits *you* or is in your best interest to remove yourself from ?

No, in my case the benefits don't outweigh the negative.  I'm quitting!

I'm at home a lot because of Covid and also caregiving.  Just need to find a different way to stay in contact with people.

It Did at one time in my Life. A negative one.

NOPE not now. I don’t play that game.
Those that I invite to choose to interact with have my phone number.

I’m way too busy daily.
I hate the drama.
Don’t miss it.
Wish I’d grown this backbone years ago.

I don't invest in it, personally. But it still has a negative effect on me because most people do and it has a negative effect on them.
