I know the common wisdom goes that signs of the same element or complementary element are supposed to click, on the surface that is. In terms of looking around with data and also looking with people I know, I noticed an outlier which I want to bring up since it is Sag season.
Leo and Sag couples are very rare when it involves a Leo guy with a Sag girl, like at least long-term. I started to wonder why and then it started to make sense to me why Sag men with Leo women are a great couple which is common but the other way around is pretty rare.
1. Sag women will flirt with the whole room, Leos demand loyalty.
A Sag woman, though playfully, will flirt with the whole room. A Sag lady might also flirt with your worst enemy in a playful way.
Now this loose commitment being the case, one might say, why do Leo men do so well with Gemini gals? Well, it's because Gemini women stop that once they are in a relationship and make sure to use the flirtiness in a way to benefit the Leo in terms of power. Like a Gemini will flirt with a Leo's enemy only to get dirt on them that a Leo can use later on, something Leos love because they love nothing more than to see an enemy suffer.
A Sag is "above all that".
2. Sag women are above all that, Leo men are petty.
Sags are philosophical, what's the point of war? Aries are immediate, hit your enemy and forget about it. Leos are strategic, I want to see my enemy dead to the last cell (something that even sends shivers down the spines of the most powerful signs like Capricorns).
A Sag is above all that playground fight nonsense. Leos see this as disloyal.
3. Leo men are vain and shallow, Sags can be "out there".
Leos want the fanciest brands, prestigious titles, and to get ahead in life. They rival Capricorns in this regard of being shallow.
Sags in general are "out there" A Sag does not care if it makes a fool out of itself. Leo men are like "dude, what the heck are you doing? That is so weird and not popular". A Sag checks a Leo and says "dude, stop caring so much about what people think!".
4. Leos want flattery, Sag women do not give it.
Leo men want an ego boost, they are weak for validation from their close ones. Sag women will be slow to give that if ever, they are very impersonal and will just point out flaws in a philosophical way. Leos will take this personally and say later.
So what should Leo men and Sag women do?
I think Leo men and Sag women should keep it casual and not pursue anything past that. A one night stand or a fling, at most friends with benefits, but not get too emotionally involved with each other. Due to the genders involved and the ways the sign works, these two are the most incompatible pair in the zodiac.

@elsa I was there for the first show in 2018! I deliberately avoided the 2nd show. There were two of them. The first one ... yeah, I was the instigator in that one. Hey, gotta tell the damn truth. I was tired of it, some sort of shit transit was hitting me, who knows.. and I lit that fire. Someone had to burn it down. I have no idea what I was thinking... but I did it. (This will never happen again)
The second one... well, typical Scorpio behavior here... I knew it was eventually going to go to hell in a handbasket so I watched with popcorn. I knew. That time everyone was on board... except me. I was in the other room

I agree a lot with the assessment of Leo. You described my Leo ex to a T .As a Sag asc, moon and venus ,I have to disagree with the flirty aspect, but then I am a scorpio sun. I dont flirt.

I don't think Leo men are shallow. Not by a long shot. For a fire sun they are the deepest truly.
Trust me, I know fire men. And, I love them. Aries will ram your ass into a wall then walk away... (after Scorp burns their life to the ground for doing it)
Sag men usually love the chase and once they hit it usually want to quit it. Even if they marry it... its going to get old eventually. Don't try to tell me different. They cheat. I don't care which one you have or are married to. You just don't know about it yet. This makes people mad. Mad at me for saying it. But, its the truth. That Sag man has tasted something behind your back at some point and you do not know. End of story.
I found Leo to be the most devoted. Yes, they need their ego stroked a bit but man can they love. Big love. If they take a shine to you they will light you up. All the fire suns have the capacity to do it... but for me, Leo does it best.
Would I want to keep any of these around. Hell to the damn NO NO NO... but, they are all so much fun. For a lifetime, so I can feel loved and truly understood... I need a water sun. I also need earth. I need Virgo! I need Cap! (don't need Taurus as I have the moon) I am a true fan of earth and water.. throw some Leo in, so I can smile! Air signs don't understand me and think I am a big emotional jigsaw puzzle they have no desire to put together.
Also... its not just the Sag women that flirt with the whole room.. both sexes do. They will flirt with a wall if they thought the wall would look at them and boost that inflated ego of theirs. 99% of the time when the person flirts with them they don't want them, they just want what they get from it. Attention! Which is the opposite of what I will give just because of that haha
To a Scorpio all that flirting is ridiculous and sickening. We zero in on the ONE person that we want and make sure they come to us hahaha there will be no flirting, ever.
Leo's do demand loyalty. Scorp gives it in spades, so no problem. But a Sag is never going to give that to a Leo. Or to anyone. They are going to have to have a whole lot of something else in the birth chart to change my mind. This is just my POV of course so do not be offended.
I think of the fire suns that Aries men do well with Sag women. They don't GAF if they flirt, they are busy building empires.
Further, Leo and Cap don't send shivers down my spine. While Cap is a formidable opponent, they don't scare me in the least. I think everyone counts out Virgo. Virgo can toss everyone around. And, they will look like your accountant so you wont see them coming!

@soup LMAO believe me, Scorpio ain't hurtin anyone, they are scared of fire signs. I doubt they are going to try to burn an Aries to the ground, that's wishful thinking.
My point with the thread is that with Leo men and Sag women, there is something there but it is not meant to last.
This is why this a relationship that functions best as a short fling, friend with benefits, or just purely based on sex. As much as I think these two should keep away from each other, there is a lot of sexual compatibility there.
I think Sag women and Leo men might be the most sexually compatible of the zodiac but outside of that, the real romance is not there.
