Trance Music? Emotion & Mental Manipulation

The first link (incorrect one) is a bit more aggressive than I prefer for that style, but I don't dislike it per se. It's from 2000 and I think that type of music has evolved since then.

The second link is crap. Lol. I looked it up and it looks like the song was released in 2009. I'm happy to leave it there.

Regarding emotional/mental manipulation...I think this does often happen with popular music especially over the last decade or so. It's unsettling. However, sometimes I like it and I don't know if it's unfair to say only the music I dislike is doing that? So maybe it works on me in certain cases. >_>

I am ashamed to admit that the closest example of erotic-themed music I know is 7 years old....?

He's likely to read this. Not sure what he'll think of the opinion the stripper in question has poor taste in music. He may be amused.

In whatever case, this thread went off it's rails in mercury retrograde fashion!

@elsa Apologies for that, Elsa. My roundabout point being....trance is no more manipulative than a highway billboard. Certainly, eroticism aka stripper music is not even remotely crafted to throw the general populace into lustful frenzy. The other modern song that I can remember about sex is actually great for an easy jog around my neighbourhood lake. So, I guess, the context is personal for everyone. Some people may find old style pinups sexy enough, others watch hardcore porn. Similarly, some might find trancey-binauralish music erotic, others still prefer Nirvana. Nothing manipulative about it.

@vests nothing to apologize for. It's my error.
