What is the astrology of hypnosis?

My guess is since it's subconscious work, probably Neptune, 12th house, etc... with a major Mercury influence.

I have three planets in the 12th house, and a lot of Neptune. I natally have Mercury in Gem in the 12th, and that struck me as interesting.

What do you believe the astrology of hypnosis is? What is its significance to you? And do you have an astrology/hypnosis story?

I would say Neptune because one has to be "suggestible" to hypnosis for this to work and that's a Neptune word. In Greek mythology Hypnos lived in a cave where there were poppies (an opiate) growning and where the river of forgetfulness flowed through - sounds pretty Neptooon to me, no?

OTOH, for the one doing the hypnotizing I would theorize (and this is speculation only) that there might be a strong Pluto element in there somewhere because you have to be able to implant a suggestion strongly in the other person'e psyche and this is, in essence, a sort of manipulation....

Interesting question!

Neptune and 12th house. Maybe Pluto sometimes as well. Pluto can go to the depths. Maybe Mercury also. Because you have to fill the space created in the subconscious with an actual thought.

Alethea and Libra Noir; That is a really good point in regards to Pluto. I hadn't considered that!

This is the chart (sry I can't post the image, I think its my mobile device) of Milton Erickson, who is considered a great pioneer in hypnosis.

I see there is a lot less Neptune than I suspected. Moon-Pluto, he had a disability from a young age, which allowed him to observe ppl closely.

Moon Trine Pluto

Uranus Opposite Pluto Orb 0°55' Sun Opposite Pluto Orb

I met a hypnotherapist who had Moon conjuct Pluto in seven. (He did also use his power to get the sexually inhibited women who sought him for therapy to bed) This could be right. I think that the Moon is the suggestible planet. Look what politics and media do: they manipulate the citizens (in classic astrology the people/citizens were signified by the Moon). The Moon has to cooperate. So the Moon seems to be pretty important, eh?

(It was a hell of a job to get a friend of mine out of his gravitational pull, she happened to be Cancer rising with Moon in twelve, she was the perfect prey for him, she is nice, she has big eyes, she looks younger than she is, a bit childlike)

i think hypnosis is directly linked to chiron, when it is taken as a method of holistic healing. because usually people experience hypnotheraphy for a health problem or a psychological problem. when jupiter conjuncted my chiron i was all of a sudden very interested in healing some of my health problems with hypnotheraphy, and i began to look for a hypnotherapist. after a while, when chiron rx. trined my MC i got a hypnotheraphy session.

but some people get into hypnosis to reach their past lives or maybe just because they wonder what it looks like. those might be linked to neptune, along with or more than chiron - i guess.
