I'm very curious about this aspect. Specifically, how would the Sun person perceive/feel the Venus person? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

I found this:

The more difficult aspects (opposition, square, and quincunx) can point to some problems and discord. The value system of the Venus native in this case is at odds with the Sun native's general outlook and life path. Each person tends to over-indulge the other at times, and frustrate one another the next day. Finding the Sun too dictatorial or self-righteous at times, the Venus person can resort to "playing games", passive-aggressiveness, appeasement, or charming the Sun into doing what he or she wants. The Venus person might also resent the Sun person, as Venus goes out of his/her way to please the Sun person and may not get what he/she wants in return. The Sun person may not appreciate the Venus person, or take Venus for granted. The square, in particular, can be challenging. The give and take of the relationship is tallied up, as Venus in particular wants to make things "fair" and balanced. As a result, when one person gives, the other senses that they are now obligated to give something in return. Depending on the natures of the individuals involved, this can be draining or stimulating! If the couple share resources, arguments over spending habits or where the money goes are likely. If the couple separates, and other rather challenging interaspects exist, things could get ugly, with love turning quite easily to hate. Probably the most frustrating problems with the square is that the relationship seems to promise a lot at the outset, but then frequently falls short of the individuals' expectations.

I have a venus square sun with my husband and that manifested as bad sex/problems on the sexual level. Wish I had known about astrology back then!

Venus Squared, thank you for your replies. If I may ask, were the problems ever resolved? Is there anything positive in your relationship that you can attribute to this aspect?

Someone once told me that even a hard aspect is better than no aspect at all. Not sure that's true in every case lol.

I am the sun person and I agree with this description that it seemed very promising at first but then changed later. I think the problem was he pretended to be one way in the beginning to make me happy but then his true self came out later. I try to talk to him about resolving our issues or going to counseling but he just goes into what I call "shutdown mode" and refuses to talk about it or changes the subject.

This is the only negative aspect in our synastry other than his neptune squaring my venus but after our daughter goes to bed we pretty much just spend all of our time in separate rooms watching tv. We don't really interact with other or go anywhere or do anything. Nothing in common. Life is pretty miserable but I'm stuck for now.

I'd never be with someone with this aspect again, but maybe your boyfriend would be more willing to work on it. Just take things slowly.

As the Sun person, I experienced it as a cordial influence. I saw the Venus person as someone who is being kind and diplomatic towards me. It doesn't feel like it a deep connection but I still appreciated Venus being pleasant with me.
