Public life predicted by Progressed planets in natal top half chart

Its quite late here, but I can't sleep, nursing my grief but unable to actually feel it. Anyway, an idea came to me that required instant validation from you all.

Its a known theory that quadrants or halves of our natal charts depict our proclivity regarding public life  (10th house) vs private, inner life (4th house), or self focussed (1st house) vs focussed on others (7th house).

My query is that could it be that an erstwhile private, introvert person begins becoming more public, visible and extrovert as progressed planets move to their upper half of the chart?

I have tested the half baked theory on a sum total of 1 chart - mine. It seemed true enough. Hoping to hear more experiences, concurrences and dissents from you all.

Hi Dear Vesta,

I don’t know where you are going trough but I feel for you! If I understand correct the upper chart is the 10,11,12th houses? I have them natally and I guess also in progressed chart. While I also have to admit I don’t understand the progressed chart a lot. I do have to say that I think you are right about becoming Public or at least deep seated fears and hurts that are surfacing.

I have my sun in Leo, moon Libra and rising in Libra. Deep seated fears are coming up but I’m trying to handle them and go with it. I hope you can find a way to feel better. I’ve had my fair share of grief in life. Slowly go with it like your walking on ice. The balancing may be hard , but you’ll get there. I’m sending you lots of light and love!
take care of yourself.

@carmen Thanks Carmen. I am touched and draw comfort from your words... ❤❤❤

Reg the chart, I meant the entire top half of the chart, starting from 7th to 12th.

Your grief speaks to me.

In a rush for work and thought I’d respond with my chart experience and add to your data. ??

Late Cancer rising, Sun, Venus  and mercury 4th house, Moon Uranus, Pluto 3rd, Mars and Neptune 5th - all natal.

Progressed: Nothing has risen to top quadrants.  It would be 100 years before the sun gets out of 4th house by progression.

By Transit!  Uranus and Neptune are up at the top. Pluto will move into 7th in a few years.

@teeceedee7 Thanks! I think Transits lead to tangible events in the outer world. Progressions ans Solar Arcs are a bit of an internal change, in my opinion. Hence the topic tag of personality change. I am sure it doesn't happen overnight either.

Progressed planets move very slowly, especially the outer planets and, so the houses will rarely change for inner planets by more than a house or two during our lifetimes with exception to the p.Moon. If you're looking for what drives changes in personality expression and I'm deliberately saying "expression" because our natal charts are the blue prints, they don't change and neither does our core self. Progressions show how we "express" that blue print in new ways over time. For this reason, progressions are used in predictive work as they can indicate time periods we can expect an evolution of expression either through internal realizations or external catalysts.

The more stark changes in expression are associated with progressed planets changing signs and/or direction i.e. retrograde to direct and vice versa. In particular, the p.Moon which is the fastest planet to move through the various signs/houses, and as it does our emotional expression will alter.

So, if you're feeling like you're becoming more extraverted despite being a natural introvert - I use these terms simplistically because there is more nuance to this. Anyway, if this is the case then I wouldn't be surprised in the 1st instance to hear that your p.Moon has changed signs e.g. from Taurus 8th to Gemini 9th a more social placement. The Moon is exalted in Taurus and 8th house is very private ...which likely spells shifting from a period of private home comforts. The rest of the chart would also play a part.

@osiris-wife My progressed Sun and Mercury (and of course Moon) moved from the lower half of the chart to the upper one. I was doing a retrospective of my life and the point when the personality change happened, Progressed Sun moved in my 7th! It did not matter that the sign was sensitive Pisces. Since it was (and still is) conjunct Progressed Mercury, I have literally found my 'voice' as a 20 something, when I was a quiet and unassuming child and teen. So, I wondered if this had anything to with the moving of planets into 'public' houses.

Cannot agree more with natal chart imprints and timing determined by Pr planets changing signs. I guess the energy I am describing is way more subtle, something that only aunts who haven't seen me for 2 decades would notice.

Progressed Sun moving into the angular 7th, 10th and especially the 1st houses allows the Sun to be 'seen.'

Like the Sun is having a 'Ta-ra, I'm here' visibility moment after its journey through a Cadent house (in traditional astrology planets are not as effective when they are in a cadent house perhaps with the exception of the 9th house to a large extent.)

I can imagine the Progressed Sun moving into the first house is a massive thing! Donald Trump had that key progression (in his case conjunct his Ascendant) when he accepted the Republican Party nomination in 2016 (just giving a representative example of visibility. He must have found the progressed Sun in the 12th house phase limiting or hard as the Sun rules his Leo Ascendant.)

The P. Sun in the angular 4th house is very important yet it's more linked to inner life and processes, heritage, roots, home life, private life, some endings.

Yes, luminaries and personal planets by progression moving into the upper hemisphere would express more outwardly (in the the 8th and 12th houses less outwardly so.)

Personally my personality change occurred when my progressed Sun moved into Aries from my natal Sun in Pisces. I suddenly got this Ba-Ba- Boom edge and fierceness about me at 13 and WOW. I actually remember key moments where even I wondered what got into me (didn't know astrology then.) With the progressed Sun being in Taurus now I've calmed down and aim more for security of all kinds so there's a subtle personality change. I'm using all the lessons and skills from the p. Sun in Aries phase to build something lasting (Taurus.)

My progressed Sun (Taurus) has been in the 7th house for three years now. My progressed Mercury has been there in that house for a while. I have used those energies (Sun, Mercury) in 7th house signification ways (clients, love or business partners) big time but if they were in the 10th house my expressions would be mega public...I'm relieved they're in the 7th and not the 10th - my progressed Moon phase will be Balsamic in a couple of years and I'm reorienting and reassessing things...don't want to start anything professionally 'new.'

vesta, what's your progressed moon phase (where is your p.moon regarding your p.sun?) as it will impact the public life expression of progressed planets in those upper houses.

Pisces to Aries must be some change. ? Agree 7th being limelight.. My mars will move into 4th in a few years. Will be strange to go from deep Scorpion waters to flamboyant Sagg. ?

About pr Moon phase, I never learnt to calculate. Pr Sun is at 18' Pi and Pr Moon is at 20' Tau. How can I learn to calculate it?

@vesta

When the progressed Moon is between 45 and 90 degrees in front of the P Sun it is in the waxing crescent phase.

https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/moon/waxing-crescent.html

When working with the Progressed chart in relation to the natal - we all experience a motion of the Progressed Ascendent towards the natal IC .

The Progressed Sun will move thru a certain limited section of the Natal for each individual - but that motion of the Pr Ascendent in the direction of the Natal IC is shared by all.

Between your progressed Sun and your progressed Moon there are 62 degrees more or less (12 degrees left in the sign of Pisces where the p.Sun is, the whole 30 degrees of the sign of Aries and 20 degrees of Taurus where your p. Moon currently is.)

Don's shared image and words in the post above show your progressed lunar phase: the waxing crescent phase.

Your progressed moon in its waxing crescent phase is gaining some light after your progressed New Moon phase (a p. Sun and p. Moon conjunction) around 5.5 years ago (and in Pisces?)

Some of those baby steps and new paths/adventures that you initiated during the progressed New Moon phase are starting to be rooted/you are setting some intentions.

Once your lunar phase is the First Quarter phase (the square) you'll be manifesting/strongly trying to manifest lots and lots of goals from your sheer efforts, determination, vision, drive, etc.

Googling 'progressed lunar or moon phase' will bring up some good entries.

Thanks @Cris and @Don. I vaguely understood the significance of Pr New moon and Pr full moon, but this has been a great new learning!

@Cris Yes, Pr New moon happened in April 2015 in Pisces. It was everything the Internet said it should have been. ?
