My daughter is a Scorpio sun with Scorpio rising and has gorgeous eyes and hair. I did her hair this morning and told her it looked extra pretty and she should go look in the mirror and admire it. She gave me the Scorpio look, so I continued. I said, "If I had that hair, I'd go look and do this." And I flipped my hair a little.

She continued her mild glare and said, "That's showing off to yourself. I am not going to do that. I wouldn't go around acting like a show off and I'm not doing it to myself in the mirror."

Well ok then! ?

Is this a Scorpio type trait? What's the astrology?

Sounds like Saturn mixing it up with Venus or the Ascendant. Or maybe aspecting 2nd house or Ascendant ruler

When my Scorpio got a new house, he was annoyed that the previous owner had kept too many mirrors in there ? He kept taking them all down and I had to plea with him to keep the one in the dining room. He argued he doesn't want to watch himself eat..I get it, but it fits the room very nicely (from a decor perspective). He said having all those mirrors everywhere was vanity. I was surprised to hear but yeah, hes kind of right...

He's got Saturn dominant, in Leo, and Venus/Pluto in Libra. Not signs I expect to be anti-vanity but he is, very much so.

Also he loves his sunglasses, covering his eyes. I don't know why every Scorpio man I know loves this. Maybe on some level they don't like being seen too much, kind of like how Pluto likes to fly under the radar.

@strawb I could see that, flying under the radar. It's appealing in a Scorpio kind of way.

It sounds like Scorpio to me.

Scorpio tends to scorn and/or mock Leo. I have an example.

One time I (Venus in Leo) was walking with my bf (Scorpio, Leo rising) down a sidewalk. My sister and her husband (also a Scorpio) were walking together, same sidewalk, a ways behind her.

Later she told me her husband was laughing at us because we were walking down the sidewalk as if it were some red carpet at the Oscars. We were promenading like the King and Queen.

We were promenading like the King and Queen and having Capricorn (and a packed 8th), I was mortified, to learn I'd been so visible and transparent.

I have checked myself since... decades, now.

@dolce this sounds like exactly what your daughter was thinking - you're stupid, basically.  Ha ha ha. You're an ass.

But hey! I have Venus in Leo and I would be greatly happy to see you flip your hair.

ps - this is a Leo/Scorpio thread so you know what's going to happen. Smile

@elsa That is funny! I am a Leo with Scorpio MC, Mars and Saturn at the top of my chart ... so like, I believe that the best way of getting attention is to be quietly powerful. But I still want the attention ?

Coco Chanel, a Leo, said: "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off." Surely she was talking to her younger self!

@elsa I thought of the square between Scorpio and Leo!

Ha that's funny! Hopefully you enjoyed it while it was happening at least ?

It was so amusing to me to hear her say what she said...so very matter of fact about it, like "why would I do something so distasteful, even alone???" She's just not vain, and I can foresee a Leo type not liking how naturally she gets attention but doesn't need it!

I think Scorpio likes to keep and protect its energy. Even receiving admiration from others can feel like a siphoning off of energy. It wouldn’t feed Scorpio in the way it does Leo, it would deplete. Just my take!

We scorpies love those Leos but tire of the constant ego boosting. We look at it as needy, and we dont need to be the center of attention.
