Which house rules prostitution?
I didn't read all the earlier responses. Sex work is something I have given much thought to since childhood. When I was six my parents took me to Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The doors of the clubs were wide open. I could see the topless dancers inside. I told my mom I wanted to be a stripper on Bourbon Street when I grew up. I was entranced. I have danced topless in several different cities. When I lived in San Francisco I auditioned for an all nude peep show in North Beach. And I found a much older sugar daddy on OK Cupid. I was going to spend the whole weekend with him in his condo but ended up just having sex with him in a Berkeley sauna. So he gave me a twenty for BART fare. That was my one night of prostitution. For years I dreamed of being a porn star. All I have that is remotely Scorpionic is Scorpio IC, Chiron in the eighth and tight Pluto Mars square. My first thought? Twelfth house. A prostitute is shamanic. She absorbs the energy/pain/ecstasy of each John. That is Pisces. I believe Jesus and Mary Magdalene were both Pisces. A good prostitute or mistress is a spiritual healer. I have read books on the sex trade and watched a documentary. I love Leaving Las Vegas...book and film. I love The Rainbow Stories, Whores For Gloria and The Royal Family by William T. Vollmann. Hollie Stevens, porn star and sex worker, had a tremendous impact on my life and I only knew of her through mutual friends. She was a Capricorn. I don't know the rest of her chart. But she lived with absolute beauty and integrity. Fucking goddess. Fucking beacon. I recommend learning about her via YouTube. She was hilarious.
I reckon 8th house....
This woman is remarkable
she helps 700 ex-prostitutes a year now. They run a cafe in town
& also make/market natural products. It started with lip balm
They do a lot of work against human trafficking.
Thanks for sharing this, Jilly. I want to read her books.
I remember watching the british tv series "Secret dairy of a Call girl" and found out it was based on a true story. Someone mentioned 8th house? And earth placements? Well this lady: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belle_de_Jour_(writer)
is a virgo venus, scorpio sun, sag moon. cancer mars. I was shocked at the cancer mars placement, not so much shocked at the Sagittarius, virgo or scorpio. lol but then cancer also loves money. she's a Lilith aries too. they have her birthday on Wikipedia, November 5th. when her book was written she kept the anonymonity of people's names and changed them. maybe too, making the film, series and book is also a step to making money as well. Everything evolved around money and acquiring it. However, being a call girl makes much more money than street prostitution.
ETA- November 5th is Neptune decan. so maybe the Neptune depths aligned with need for money and power and sex. plus 8th house/scorpio needs to take energy, kind of like a succubus, but not always in that way, could be any way. I suck at descriptions so maybe that's why?
This is the chart of a "professional working female", a woman I know personally who has been in the business for
decades. She has also unfortunately been charged a few years ago, she moved out of that jurisdiction and continues
to work. She has finally gotten filed with the IRS as an independent business. She is a go getter! She approaches
what she does very seriously, does not abuse drugs or participate in any other illegal activity. She is grateful for her
nice clientelle, and tries to avoid dangerous men and abusive behavior. She is not always the brightest person, but
with those planets on the angles, she is serious! She seems to have alot of gratitude for her life, she has worked
legal jobs as well, often at the same time she was engaging in this line of work. I do not always agree with her, but
I know she loves her family, friends and community and just about anyone who knows her calls her an inspiration.
She has alot of pride in what she does and she always tries to make the best out of what she is given. She has a
stellar credit rating to boot.
What an interesting question. I definitely see Venus Cap doing it. But house? I might say 5th house and here's why: prositution, courtesans, escorts...they are acting. You have to play the part (whether genuinely feeling it or not) of making another person feel special or being entertainment, a vessel, whatever. And not you're necessarily trying to heal anyone. You're providing a service, filling a void, and capitalizing on it.
