We'll we're getting into it now. My husband I are having a 10-14 day shindig at our house.  My Gemini daughter (and her pronouns) will be here. She's bringing her stellium-in-Aries son and just to mix it up, we'll also be hosting a 15 year old boy.

The boy is the son of a long-time friend of my husband.  She is a single parent and to put it bluntly, he's going ape-shit at the moment, as boys tend to do at this age.  She needs a break. He needs a male influence so she's going to drop him with us for 10 days.

I think the 15 year old by will be good for the 4 year old boy. I think the 26 year old mom can work with the 15 year old boy around how he should be treating his mother.

My daughter need home skills, my husband and I need some help around here so I think it's going to be pretty cool.

The boy will be coming here, post "vacation bible school" which is a normal thing where he's from - just ask NMC. Yeah, he's from her state, but I think they were born here.

Thankfully, we have a big house. I was afraid the boy might bolt... I would at that age. My daughter did at that age. My husband does not think it's a risk. He says he never gets to go anywhere, so we intend to have a very good time. Smile

Doesn't this sound cool?

The boy can sing and I think he can play drums. We are fixing to get together with that family we used to be in the band with. I might just have them over, 4th of July. They have six kids.  We know another family to invite as well.. four kids.

This is really what I wanted to do when I moved here. My back and hip were so screwed. I can't believe I am up on my garden. Mars in Leo - yeah!

@jana yeah, I'm really excited. My grandson likes to fish... our neighbors has a pond... you just walk 1/2 a block and you're fishing. My daughter likes to fish as well and the boy fishes too, I'm sure.

There is a big hoedown thing around here which we will also attend. I think it is the premier event of this type in the country.  We'll probably also go back to the animal play farm which was beyond cool last time.

@carly42 my husband says if it works out, he can come every summer. He's going to take him to the college and walk him around... show him there are options. They are very, very poor. The dad, a big ol' preachy Christian, abandoned them. This shocked my husband and everyone else who witnessed it.

My daughter is looking forward to this. It's a new slant, any way you turn it. She'll be able to relax. The boy can play bug brother and just have a chance to stretch his legs a bit.

This is so cool!  Almost sounds like a Jan Karon novel!  We have Vacation Bible School and Camp down here in Florida too, and I even remember it up north in the 1960s.  Music, fishing, hoedown, all your fine cooking -- watch out, they may all want to stay on permanently!

And we have four dogs and a giant garden. Everyone can have both company and space.

@turtle Yes!  And the five wandering Doberman pups just cruised by. It's a whole litter, running like a pack. They do not visit. They just romp around the yard, 'cause they can.

We've seen them a dozen times in the last couple weeks. I don't know how old they are but they must be smart because they avoid being killed in the road!

We think we know where they live. I guess one of them is brave or crafty. Gets loose and the rest of them follow. The Apple Doberman gang. You can tell they're siblings.
