Let’s talk about woo woo. Gemini Mercury in the 12th house.

If we go with the idea or belief that there is one energy force in the Universe that gives life or energy to everything from oak trees to puppies to your co-worker that annoys you. Then other than there being a soul, there is no way to explain how when someone dies that you know they are gone. Because if the energy force has left the body then there is no way for the cells to keep functioning and nails and hair to continue to grow. We know for a fact that these processes continue for days after the person has died.

Even if we just say that there is still energy stored in the fat cells it still doesn’t make sense. Either the life force is there or it isn’t there. The first law of thermodynamics and stuff. 🙂

What do ya think?

I have never thought about this! And I am one of those people who think humans are no more special to the universal “source” than a plant.

Hmmmm.

That’s deep. I also learned facts I didn’t know about the human body after death.

Humans are insignificant compared to the omnipotent forces of nature.  Defective compared to plants which perform their functions perfectly.  Unless the human’s function is… chaos?

Do not only humans but all animals continue to grow hair and nails, etc. after death?

I don’t know about animals. Plus we can’t prove they don’t have souls. 🙂

I don’t know about chaos either. For myself, it just seems like one painful lesson after another with some fun sprinkled in.

Yes! If you look at it a certain way, plants are better than humans.  More pure. They don’t have the desires humans have.  I personally think the soul may be nothing more than desire.  Which is ego..which is the opposite of source…blah blah

If you think about it, everything that we consume for food is alive or contains energy.  We become food for the earth and its creatures after we die.  The circle of life.  Earth itself is alive.  Nature is so spiritual.  It is good for the soul/spirit.

It seems I lied to you about the hair and nails. The skin shrinks and makes it look like the hair and nails get longer. I know I saw it on one of the nature shows years ago it was as if the camera was in a coffin and you could see the fingernails grow but when I look today it just says it appears to.

I had a past life regression and talked about things I would not normally say or know about. I didn’t want to remember out of fear as I was being hypnotized and I didn’t remember a nice life either.

Now I am curious, Is there any part of your life regression you would be willing to share?

I was I believe 36 at the time. I was just curious and thought that something relating to the 1930’s would show up due to my love for things from that era of time. So I went and she had trouble getting me hypnotized I could tell that I was afraid of knowing something. But finally she did and only one life showed up from the late 1800’s probably the 1890’s. I was in Massachusetts where I have never been and I was the wife of a farmer. We had a field that was surrounded by stacked stone walls with a gate in it. There was also trees of a uniform size just on the outside of the walls and it was early Spring. She asked me what is happening. I said I’m not sure he is going to live. She said what happened? I said my husband was kicked in the head by a horse when he was plowing. In real life, I am terribly allergic to horses I can’t even be in a barn where one has been.

Next, she asked me what else is happening. I said the baby died and it’s my fault. I breastfeed her while I was sick. Now I’m starting to cry typing this because it really bothers me even though it’s 16 years later. Anyway, it was a little girl and I was looking down at myself breastfeeding her. Next, she asked what else is happening and I said that I die alone in the bed. I’m sick with something that is very contagious and no one would come and help me.

The reason I picked that year range is because she had me look down at my dress and I researched when that style of dress was worn. I also told her that I really really loved that farm, that land. Of course I could have made all of this up like a dream but the looking down at the dress is what sealed it in my mind. There was another question I believe about my age and I was 36 in the life just as in real life but again I could have made all of that up.

Fascinating.

Right up my woo-woo alley.

Recalling past lives and life on earth has to do with consciousness. In physical form, we only bring about 20-40% consciousness here with us (this data is based on thousands of hypnotherapy clients). That is why recalling past lives can happen.

There is clear factual evidence if anyone looks for it online.

Did woo woo ring??

My cousin the nurse has been with people during their death. She worked in a nursing home for a while. She says she can’t truly describe the event, but it feels a release of energy when someone dies.  She made it sound like a discreet event, the detachment of the life force from the body.  My thoughts are that this is separate from the life and death of the individual cells of the body.  Indeed, as we age, catabolism outpaces anabolism. The organs fail, etc.

On a slight tangent, I will give a family story. My great grandfather had a slow gradual death when he was in his late 90s. He lived his summers at my grandfather’s house on what had been his farm. His winters were in town with his daughter. He died on the farm.  GGdad had been blind for over a decade.  Before he died, he could see again. I don’t know how long this lasted. I was young. He remarked on seeing the face of his granddaughter in law for the first time (She was the mother of my cousin the nurse). He enjoyed seeing the faces of his loved ones. He remarked on how pretty his bedroom was, liked the curtains, and thanked them for making his room pretty.

This experience of my family with my great grandfather leads me to believe his consciousness was gradually detaching from his body and opening up his ability to see again, beyond the ability of his failed eyes.

Woo-woo must be in the air (or era).

I’ve been reading about mediumnity, out-of-life connections and related subjects. It’s fascinating.

Tam, thanks for sharing your experience. But it is very sad. According to things related to past lives, often they influence the present life.

It seems that people are not just their body and their minds, there is some sort of ethereal thing (soul? spirit?) that functions, then leaves the body when the machine can no longer work.

What Sue Ellen describes is exactly this type of manifestation.
