Maybe this will be a reset of our society. Back to one adult working outside the home.40 hour work weeks not 60.

Small classrooms,or maybe even more homes schooling.

Less packaged food and fast food because people will be cooking in their homes, planting gardens. Mega stores will be downsized and located close to home. Back to the 1950s?

Maybe we will slow down…Realize whats important. Not filling our homes and lives with things.

Realize that we are connected spiritually and can worship without supporting mega churches.

What if this brings us back to our roots? Humans are TRIBAL beings. Native Americans understand this.

What if both sides of the political aisle have to surrender their polarized positions long enough to work together to keep our economy’s head above water?

What if realizing so many of our essential product areas: pharmaceuticals, rare earth minerals, etc are not produced here and can be withheld from people and industry brings back manufacuring from overseas—giving well paying jobs and benefits to  the people that have had to cobble together 30hr jobs with no health insurance/benefits to support their families.

Agreed. The Chinese government is now threatening to restrict drug imports from the United States if we don’t play nice with them. Our health care system will collapse if they cut us off. It’s time to consider greatly reducing or cutting our dependency on them.

What if we find a way to gradually make this happen?

I had been meaning to post:

* What if the virus never reaches my town…

But I didn’t, and just now we are being informed that it has.

So my hope now turns to:

* What if something good, something very, very good comes of “all this” (the whole situation)…

What if having to cook more at home gives people a newfound appreciation for quality food and quality ingredients and transforms nutritional standards of the food industry for the better?

What if people get so fed up with staying at home that they rush to support local businesses once all this is over–and help keep them afloat right now, too? (I just got a huge takeout order from my favorite local vegetarian restaurant.)

What if spending more time outside means that people decide to put more resources into parks and wildland conservation?

What if everyone’s hygiene and cleanliness habits are permanently improved from all this?

What if workplaces continue to implement the lessons they learned from having to move to a work-from-home model, making this more of an option going forward and reducing traffic overall?

What if the economy comes back from this, stronger than ever?
