What have you discovered, playing with AI?

My queries are narrow but this is what I have found, consistently:

1. Thumbs down on astrology.  Most queries has a "but astrology is bs" attached.
2. Lots of "see a doctor"...
3. Lots of "see a psychotherapist..."

This suggest that AI is a giant funnel sending you for professional, sanctioned service. It also suggests they'll block astrology altogether, eventually, unless they can take it over (ie control it and profit).

What have you discovered?

It's not surprising -- why would so much be invested in AI without tapping every possible profit angle?

Out of (suspicious) curiosity, I listened to a very stilted, scripted "interview" of a heretofore unheralded financial maven by his "ex-CIA" media personality son.  Four of the five tenets of his 30+ year formula were pretty basic, but the fifth was ···drum roll··· using Astrology!

Of course, the purpose of the broadcast was to solicit newsletter membership, so how astrology will be used is a mystery.

@warped reading this, I'm reminded, "you're the product". When you use AI, its using you.

Absolutely.  Have you noticed at least one astrology topic trending daily on Twitter?  Today it was Uranus, yesterday Mars in Leo, etc.  Yet if you click and scroll the tweets, very few have any activity.  Odd.

@warped I would think this is targeted / what's trending for you?

OK. So I'm irked. When I want customer service, I can't get to a human. I have to download an App. Then a virtual assistant comes on and asks me questions. Of course a robot doesn't have the intuition about how to really help me. I hate that. I usually am supportive of AI but there are times when I'm like, 'This is not appropriate.'

Also, I'm contacting customer service to learn how I can help my own self get out of a mess. I want to be empowered, with the help of a sympathetic human who has been there themselves.

I wish manufacturers / service sector industries all cared equally about making products that work, and making sure customers know how to make the best use of those products. I wish the world weren't always about marketing and spin, and giving people the veneer of 'feeling good' without any substance. They say money is the root of all evil... I say mass communication & advertising is the root of all evil. Put AI in the mix and it's only going to get turbo charged. I curse humanity for letting advertising and tech people run the world! I include myself in worshipping these folks in the past. No more. I wish I could escape. But where?

End rant.

@elsa I noticed a few times on Amazon when I need customer support I'm talking to an AI via chat instead of a person from India so I guess this is slowly taking over everything.

Sometimes I really hate technology. It would be great if it could be used just for good but now AI is taking over human jobs. All those Sci-Fi dystopian movies that we thought were just entertainment becoming reality. I sometimes wish we could roll back time to before we had computers. I know we can't really live without computers/cellphones now, at least most of us can't, but this technology is used to manipulate us, control us, surveil us and eventually replace us.

@marissa and they influence you to CONSUME. This has been the hardest thing for me to unwind, personally. I am still fighting it. I hope typing this, helps!

@elsa Yeah they've been influencing our minds for awhile including making us think we need something when we don't. I don't know how much stuff I bought that I didn't need. I'm especially bad with Amazon because it's just so easy to buy stuff on there, although I've been buying less and less.

With technology, we're also encouraged to keep buying and upgrading. That cellphone you have is over 2 years old? It's no longer good, you need to buy a new one. Computers as well, we must always have something newer, faster, more memory capacity etc. Cars start breaking down and we just buy a new one. I know in other countries people actually repair things over and over and keep it vs. buying new stuff because they can't afford to buy it.

I resist the things mentioned but there is more. Rumors of shortages for example. Capricorn falls for that!

Think of how people have stockpiled food for 50 years! My grandfather did it!

Then there's the finance stuff. This is why regular people can't participate. Why give anyone who isn't part of it an audience? They don't. We're the audience and the content is... Bad, far, far, far worse than most people grasp.

Sorry. I just realized I'm off topic. Zipping it now.

Companies that do this should be taxed accordingly to supply a fund for UBI and training for those laid off. I'm not a fan of UBI and this kind of re-training is notoriously ineffective but I don't know what else could be done. Andrew Yang warned about this when he was running and people thought he was a kook. Wait until the self driving trucks are mobilized.

I haven’t willingly used it. As in, I haven’t specifically sought it out to use. I’m getting suspicious of many things, and probably have unknowingly used it.

The answers to sensitive subjects are curated. If AI tells me that there is no scientific basis for so and so to be harmful while there is real research and papers documenting the harm, then I do not trust it. And I am not talking about the jabs. For me it is another tool to manipulate the masses, introduced just in time to replace authorities who got exposed and people lost faith in.

I haven't used any AI. I don't even know how to access it. Not sure if that is good or bad, considering I'll be completely inexperienced.
