I want to write, "Wombo Combo", n my newsletter for Friday, but if I do, I will get a chastising note from the person who sends these to me. So you can just watch it, instead along with 19 million other people.

45 seconds long. Smile

Today I had a dream about an old acquaintance... I woke up this morning having just had the dream and I look at Facebook, I have a notification it is his birthday today. Strange right? I’ve never dreamt of this person before and honestly never think about them. I didn’t even know their birthday.

A year ago I woke up thinking of an online acquaintance I'd exchanged emails with occasionally over a few years about history of my home town.  I was suddenly aware that I'd stopped hearing from him a few years ago, and became concerned.

He'd known my dad slightly and said my dad's paintings had inspired him to paint in retirement.  Sent me a few photos of his own excellent paintings of local historical sites.

So that morning I googled a bit, suspecting the worst.  Not only did I find his obituary from 2018, but also the current obituary of his wife, listing the date and time of her funeral.  It was actually taking place that very morning and had begun right around the time I awoke thinking of him.

@warped Curious how this knowledge enters our consciousness, sometimes with a passing thought about someone dear to your heart, as was your experience or as in my case hearing my name clearly spoken to me, while looking in the frig for something to eat, funny how I remember that. Anyway I had known he was ill with a cancer diagnosis, but hardly near the end of life or so I told myself. Since I hadn’t heard from him in a few weeks, my immediate reaction was to check the death notices and there I sadly learned of his death.

This occurred just a few weeks into the New Year, when I learned he died on December 27th. Our custom is to decorate a live Christmas tree that I typically take down 10-12 days after Christmas. Oddly enough that year, our tree died 2days after Christmas and I took it down that same day.

These experiences are so much more than coincidence.  I think he was reaching out to you.  After my experience, I was convinced that it was my late father sending me a message!

I went back and reread all the man's emails, realizing with regret that I'd never replied to the last one, forgotten at the time in the chaos of moving.  I searched online for articles he'd told me he'd written for a local publication, but it had folded, with no apparent archives anywhere.  I'm now inspired to search further.  These are the kind of rabbit holes I can disappear into for weeks!

@warped T hat would inspire me also to do a deep dive, and go beyond the internet.  I'd search hi and low to get my hands on his writings.

It's a treasure hunt for a legacy meant for you to reveal, read and relate.   If it were me, it's a long shot,  but call the county library, or a nearby university where the paper was located.  Maybe search for people who worked for the paper, to point you in the right direction.  Good luck! And a prayer to St Anthony to find lost things will help you.

Well, one library said they don't have them, but will check another in the next town over. I did email the publisher of the now defunct local paper just yesterday.

I'm curious out of general interest in local history, but can't imagine there's anything all that significant since he answered my questions about my grandmother and dad's business when they first moved there.  Unfortunately, during the year or so of our occasional correspondence I didn't think to ask other questions that occur to me now.  He did tell me where his articles had been archived, but when I inquired there they directed me to the library that said no.  We'll see...

Speaking of insurance, my husband checked on cost if we went through his employer. It was about the same, physical required, $5800 deductible (compared to $200), pays 80/20 as compared to 85/20 and no clue the max out of pocket but I'm sure it's HIGH.

So we're sticking with what we have. Today, my doc gave me samples to try of a drug I am taking that has side effects.

My old drug is 38 cents a pill.

The new drug is 14 dollars a pill. Yes. 14 dollars and change.

Our insurance pays for 90 days of any drug for $5 total.

Um... I am not only keeping it, I am going to quit bitching.

Also, I do know an older couple... I'm pretty sure the gal told me they paid $2K a month. It's just the way it is.

@elsa Uh - yeah, you're getting a good deal. Mine costs 1,220/month for me and my husband. 1,500 deductible and 14,400 out of pocket max. In 2022 my premium is going up and my out of pocket max is going up. There are so many reasons health insurance is so expensive... I was thinking about your "price on tears" topic as well. I've been ding-ed for the "brief emotional assessment" charges too. But my doctor only charged 1 cent, and the insurance paid for it. So this made me wonder, why mention it all? This is speculation, but I think there must be some kind of mandate for care to treat depression. My EOB said something like "depression negative, no plan required" which makes me believe that if there is clinical depression, then a plan is required... what that plan would includes exactly I do not know.

That's me and my friend, Kathleen, who came over to help me paint my house. I've known her since the Old Man's Bar.

We're in our 20's there. She is one of the kindest, smartest people I've ever known. Libra with an Aquarius moon.

I don't get to speak to her very often but today I will.

This is one of the things I can see in hindsight.  It was a memorable day.

I'm not going anywhere today. I just decided to dress up in case we get trick or treaters. My roommate is my bite victim.

@jana Yeah. I may do a tarot reading later on. These pictures are also good for a game of guess my rising sign, which is very obvious here.

Adding eclipse info to my calendar atm. As a Taurus, the eclipse cycle moving to Taurus-Scorpio polarity needs tracking (says my Virgo rising!). I note the first eclipse upcoming on 19th November is at 27* (my Sun is 24*), is a partial lunar eclipse (Full moon in Taurus), but at that point the (true) nodes are still in Gem/Sag. They shift to Tau/Scorp on January 19th 2022. There is also a total lunar eclipse (Full moon in Scorpio - and the culmination of this week's new moon in Scorpio) early hours (gmt) of 16th May at 25* Scorpio, and that is hours after my birthday on 15th, so I'm checking my SR for 2022 next. Here are some links for the moon info for those curious, or Taurus/Scorpio people:
