Back from the edge, I hope!

Firstly, thank you all for the birthday wishes, and I wish all the best for y'all!

Secondly, the issues with my family have started seriously escalating. My father is thinking of divorcing my mother after 40 years of marriage and his alcoholism has returned full force, while my mum has been increasingly addicted to painkillers. I find it sad that despite the fact we've had quite a few happy occurrences lately, with my sister's sudden pregnancy and civil marriage, neither of my parents is really happy.

Furthermore, when they started raising concerns about my partner's health, that's when I said to the Universe "I'm done!". You see, my issue is not about the concerns themselves, of course, but the way they voiced them was what got to me. In fact, they didn't even dare speak to me in a honest way, they just used my pregnant sister as a messenger. In addition, I consider that they were rather offensive. I mean, I shiver to ponder what they'd think about me if I were in my partner's position.

For the time being, I am in my "I'm done!" mode. Summer courses are done for now, but I have left a lot of translation and writing work to complete. The message I've even got from my cards is clear: "stay out of your own way". I'm also sending in my CV in order to find a job that would offer me a steady income so as to solidify my plans for moving out.

I'm once again saying to the Universe "Enough!". Enough of the drama, enough of the misery, enough of the suppression of love. Enough of the wildfires and the viruses, too. Stop!

@canscocappy I do not believe I have corresponded with you before, but belated Happy Birthday wishes!  Maybe it is for the best with your parents divorcing, I dunno.  I don't understand a lot of the initials y'all use.  I am thinking CV must be a resume??

Hope something great turns up for you.

@okscorpiogal Thank you very much and I wish you all the best! As for the divorce, it's still up in the air. It's sad to see my parents being a shadow of their former selves. I recommended they both see a counselor to solve their issues, but they don't agree, they think that would be of no use. As for the CV, yes, it's a resume.

I had a phone screen yesterday for an IT position at a healthcare facility and I honestly thought I bombed it.

Today I got a call back and now they want me to do an second interview with them on Friday. I hope I don't bomb that one.

@purplestargirl Now, you did not bomb the phone screen or they would not have called you back for a 2nd interview!  I don't know initials, assume IT means Internet Transcriber (or what?) Good luck!

Just set some boundaries with someone I should have set boundaries with a long time ago. We'll see how it lasts.

@purplestargirl Good!!boundaries are good, listen to your gut & don’t let anyone manipulate you. I didn’t originally set boundaries in place, hit a depressed bottom (A shemale was a bully vampire sucking the life out of me)... she went for the jugular. I reached out to Elsa- set boundaries, 4 planets in 12th- and 2 in 8th  in Scorpio.....& Pluto & Uranus on my DC, I didn’t realize my power and potential. I’m feeling you’re really going to come into your power wheelhouse, new piercing, possible new cool job, you’re really good at expressing yourself here and I love reading your stuff. You seem like a cool person to hang out with

Thanks. I'm just done with this person I'm setting boundaries with lying to themselves and their bullshit in general. It's getting old.

Just moved into this flat in the city. Have an older landlord in his 70s probably. On the day we moved in, he talked about the people who lived in the place before - he mentioned that they could fit a Q sized bed in the bedrooms- ok fine- but then he said. “I only know because I had to come in to fix the washing machine. I do not go in unless it’s for something like that” Ok. Didn’t bother me that he said that, I just thought it was his way of saying he respects his tenants privacy. But my husbands Scorpio spidey senses when off. I don’t know if it was the way he said it or what but my husband said it was creepy and made a joke about it.

Well, I’m just lying in my bed, just now and hear something moving around in the freaking attic above.

so I call my husband... I’m like “wtf someone was in the attic, we need to investigate this”

So I take a ladder and try to investigate myself, I open the door to attic. It is sealed shut. It looks like a way into the attic but it is not. It’s boarded freaking shut. Slightly freaking out right now.

How do I investigate if I can’t even get into the attic? Landlord lives right next to us btw. It’s a 3 story flat. We are in the top floor, two apartments per floor.

I had just gotten out of the shower btw....I’m just freaked out.

Is that normal for the attic to have a door and for the entry to be boarded up?

@la_sirena not sure- but usually when a Scorpio senses go off it’s headed somewhere... uncle works construction, if the man is a creepo and it’s his place there is a possibility the sealed entrance is to throw you off and there is another entrance? Not creeping you out but I’m a mom. I’d tell my kid to get with her husband and check it out. Yes attics can have a door. They can have 2 depending on the size of the structure. Stand in the yard and study the attic size and where your room is. He could be innocent as an Angel- but you never know.

I just watched this video where a neighbor was crawling into a couples attic and videoing them and their baby through the vents. The husband placed a hidden camera in the attic and caught him.

I would do this but I can’t even get into the attic. I’m assuming he has a way in through his side. But he boarded ours up. Could be for privacy so he doesn’t have tenants going up there looking though his things or stealing them, but it could also be malicious...

Not sure but I think it may be illegal to board the attic for fire safety issues... there should be a wall between our attics. But this is an older building built in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s so not sure the laws on older buildings.....

I’m gonna investigate this further for sure.

@la_sirena Yes, please do investigate it further.  I have have had squirrels in my attic before, and they can make quite a racket, but it may just be your "squirrely" landlord, and you may want to consider moving!

Speaking as a former realtor, former tenant, and current property owner, tenants are not normally allowed access to attics in a multi-unit building unless the attic is specified in their lease as a designated storage space.  All access to attics from rental units is normally restricted, with only access by landlord or maintenance personnel from a communal hallway or an exterior entry point.

The attic may be used as storage space by the landlord, or you may have heard squirrels, mice, etc.  Why not just report what you heard to the landlord?  He would certainly want to know and take action if there are critters up there that could chew wires or such. If you're really  concerned about peepholes from above, check your air vents, light fixtures, etc.

Well, it really Would Be worrisome if the ceiling hatch she expected to open to the attic actually Did open, if there was also access to the attic from somewhere Other Than her apartment -- that would mean someone could enter the attic from elsewhere and then let themselves down into her apartment through the hatch.  If it wasn't already screwed shut, it would be advisable to do so asap.

thanks warped... I’ll go ahead and report to the landlord that I heard something in the attic. It’s totally not worrisome at all... probably just squirrels anyway.
