I'm at the beach with my girls.  I'm sitting on the off set porch with sea 🌊 air blowing through my hair watching them sleep through the window.  They go home Tuesday.  It has been wonderful having them.

Scorpio moon has a teenager attitude so that was a little hard for a minute.  She's Aries Sun and rising.  Oofff.... 😳 she got a little smart assy... I said girl....all that whatever it is you have,  I have it X1000 so take it back a notch. She literally said NO! Haha... then GMa Gforce  stood up... and barked.... I had to shout her name. I don't miss being mom to teenagers.

Mars meets Pluto/Mars....  I hate to say anything to her.  I love her so much.  But damn 😳

It may be awhile before I take this on again.  We've been together since 5/23. I'm exhausted!!!!! Back to my house tomorrow.  They leave Tuesday.  And I'm okay with it 🤣

Glad you’re spending time with them.  I don’t miss those teenager years of my one child.  I was talking to my sister on the phone when her teenager granddaughter was giving her some grief. I told my sister, “effing teenager!” Her reply, “Isn’t that the truth?”  Thankfully they do grow out of it.

@sue-ellen They left this morning and we all cried. My oldest GD was a handful. haha 14! Wow. She has really come into her Aries 🤣 and she rammed the crap out of all of us. I love her to the end of time but man... whoa... she will stand her ground on any ridiculous issue she can come up with haha... little hard to deal with but I am glad she is like this now. She used to cry... had a bully. Not anymore. She is Aries sun and rising and she knows how to use it! She mostly hands all that to her parents and I usually get all the love but she was something this visit 🤪 My little Gemini and Sag GD's cried their eyes out when they left. Imagine a Gemini sun with a load of Virgo crying hard.... she had her little arms wrapped around my neck for dear life.

Funny.... to have all this Scorpio and have to Air sign kids with Fire and Air grandies. Thank goodness for astrology. I can understand them better. Scorpio moon was having her monthly visit and we all know what that means... crabby, hungry, tired and b!tchy 🙃

I was just thinking about astrology and talking about it over dinner with a Sagittarius friend. We were just talking about how we seem very "libra" even though she's not into astrology but was interested a bit.  And that we wouldnt survive without a partner, we are not very self reliant. I mean i think we can get by but we would be poor lol or struggling. We aren't really self reliant that way.  So we were just noticing how some of us ladies are super self reliant and dont need a man just like my Aries sun friend and even my capricorn sun mother in law, bought their own homes and has their own business kind of thing. super self reliant (although they may be lonely and need one of course but its not a necessary). for some of us we need co-operation. I noticed that with my Libra sun mother. And by no means that means perfect partner or marriage because i've had two ex husband who were bad men and ended up dead. and i've read also on this site that even many libra suns aren't even partnered. but maybe their partnership lies elsewhere. For example i know another Sagittaius girl who is with a Virgo man and her virgo boyfriend has a libra sister and she wont let go of him and go off to marry the sag. its because she is single and can't let go of him for fear he will abandon her. I saw she was libra and thought aww thats so true about libra needed someone, they cannot be self reliant like an Aries sun. they need co operation. Whether family or a partner or someone dear and near. its awesome to learn this about astrology so people will be more compassionate and understanding when they see someone cannot be self reliant on their own. I feel very much like a libra that way too.  and it doesn't mean we have to have the sun there, just have libra traits of needing partnership. My sagittarius friend told me she knows she needs a partner and it has always been that way, and just recently over a year started a full time job that she really likes. but still needs her husband for all the providing needs and bread winner abilities.

This is a totally made up guess, but I don't think people read long paragraphs anymore. Even if interested in the topic; if the paragraphs are long or even longish, they will not be read by 90%... maybe 95% of people.

I wonder if our brains have been altered by the short content (twitter).  This is another reason, I am trying to make videos to say things I hope people hear.

@elsa I actually agree with this. So many times over the past few years, I have shown text to people with more than a few lines of text and they say 'oh, I can't read all that!' as if I'm presenting them with an essay 😀

@plutolover It's stubborn, like that is too much to read... and no matter how much value they might get from it, the answer is NO.

But if you look deeper; I don't think they really can read... like read and comprehend.  Something that used to be there is gone.

I'm talking about myself here too, for the record. To an extent, anyway. I am working hard to regain my abilities.  Emphasis on HARD.  But if I don't dial this back, I know I will continue to roll down the hill. At this point, I've stopped the slide, turned it around and am currently rolling in the right direction, which is unfortunately, uphill.

@elsa I know what you mean - if you don't use it, you lose it.

One thing I do when I want to retain what I'm reading is make a cup of tea, make time to settle down, and read the thing, over and over if I have to, and really digest it while I sip my brew. I think the slowing down helps, and associating the taking of a drink with the taking in of information.

@elsa I still like to read long paragraphs but only if interesting. I don’t have time to do a lot of reading anymore, so if I do read something long, it has to be interesting and capture my interest in the first couple of sentences.

@la_sirena I understand.  But if it goes on, you will lose your ability.  It's just what happens. Skills not only degrade; they degrade faster than you think.

Speaking from personal experience!

But also, I doubt long in depth content will be that available in the future, if at all. Chunks of the internet are disappearing all the time.  Again, I can tell you this for sure because my blog's content has disappeared.

But the fact is, the information can still be out there but no one will read it.  It's easier to say "won't" when you really mean "can't". Not you, personally. It's a general statement.

I'm suggesting the assumption you could read something long and detailed, "if you wanted to", might start out true. Eventually, probably not.

We think we are choosing but it's really something else. Like being invited onto the path of least resistance which I don't think leads a person anywhere desirable.

Another point - the spell check.

I'm losing my ability to spell. I am so used to relying on spell check.

Now what if they were to dial down the degree with which they fix your spelling? I think I would struggle to regain my normal skills. I don't know how hard or for how long, but it would happen and if if happened two or three or five years from now, it would be that much worse. So this is something else I'm noticing and wanting to resolve in a way that benefits me, personally.

@elsa good points and great advice. If you don’t use it you lose it, too true. Is it just me or does it feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day anymore? Time is speeding up? Maybe it’s just my age.

@la_sirena Yes, I think it's universal for the most part.

Some of it is because people are hustling to make ends meet.  Also, families are almost all split up. No one has any help to speak of.  There is no one to work together with or depend on.

But by far, the biggest time waster is media / the internet. The whole day can be spent on tiktok or twitter or wherever and what did you gain? Try nothing.

I have fallen prey, like everyone else. But I am aware now of the nefarious intent that is embedded in virtually every type media. Certainly anything that is promoted... and you can't get "big" without promotion. At all.

So if you get to a point where you can see this, it's a lot easier to turn away.  I mean, it takes time an effort.

It's been about seven years, I've been cracking this. You have to go in deeper to get anywhere. It's a long process to be honest. It's more than more people will want to deal with. But here's an interesting deal...

It takes about the same amount of time as learning astrology.  Quite a bit, right?  But if you hang with people who really know what they're doing, they can save you a lot of time. I think this is the same.

So I was very early in astrology / blogging / internet. Same thing with selling on ebay. Ebay before fees? Ebay before paypal? I was there.

Now I am very early on this other stuff (which is insane crap but also as interesting as astrology, at least). So maybe I will will wind up teaching people at some point. I know I could do it.

So I wonder if this is what is going to happen to me.  It's up to God.

The deal here is this stark: you can live just fine with or without astrology. If it's not for you, no problem. This other stuff is horrible destructive, harming virtually every soul around the world in real, tangible ways, day in and day out since the day you were born. I don't think it's good to ignore such things but you have no choice but to ignore them when you don't know they are there.

I found this out because of people telling me things, here or there, over the years. I try to pay this forward by writing things like this.

You (not personal to you) are missing it. So long as you do, you'll be confused and disabled in ways you can't even imagine. Then if you do find out... you have to recalibrate EVERYTHING in your life. I'm not kidding. I have been at this for going on a decade and I am still correcting my perception, dramatically, on a daily basis.

Again, it's like astrology. There is always more.

With astrology, you can tell someone it works and what? They don't believe you.  Same with this.

You can show them things on a paper... they still don't believe you.

You have to want to know and for some reason, credibility, maybe, I am someone they gets people interested in learning things that are hard to comprehend, but very interesting and ultimately life-changing.

See the distractions waste your time but you can't look away in case you miss something. But if you look at it and you don't figure it out, then son of a bitch, you wind up missing everything.

My husband and I read essays to each other every Sunday. The authors we read are tough. Highly skilled writers with better vocabularies and/or content knowledge we don't have. We stop and look up words...and he is an English teacher. We are weird word nerds I think Smile

We are reading this guy now:

This is SO worth reading -- if only everyone would read it, everyone!  And it's short enough, engaging enough -- no excuses!

Tying in -- just read that Ukranians are selling US Javelin Missiles on the dark web for $30,000.  Wonder where the rest of our $40 Billion is going...

ah i just looked that up too.

and some the Russian commenters are saying yay!! good on Putin for exposing ukraine's evilness. wtf....

they sure are strange. they are the ones attacking and killing and taking claim and then saying exposure? It's like an abusive husband slapping around a meek wife who didnt even bother him, and when she screams and yells and pushes him back, he laughs and says, hahah i exposed you, for pushing me.

also, i saw it was a PRO russian news who was exposing that, so it could be another of their plans to do something propagandish.  Poland and Lithiunia and other border countries have always been suspicious of Russia's intent, because they have from what i heard like to mingle in other countrie's businesses. For example, they tried to help Trump's election.  I've also heard that Putin blames Hilary Clintoitn involvement of the riots that happened over a decade ago, and still hates her so much that when war broke out and sanctions were done in Russia, Hilary Clinton is not allowed in Russia lol

well there was one commenter on the javellin missile fiasco, and it seems well placed, i dont think he/she was pro russia or pro anything, just stating something that makes sense in times of war, when Zelensky wanted no males to leave country between 18-45, and it would make sense for some of them to get hands on some to send money to their wives and children. Who knows. I

i like some paragraphs too, but sometimes i go on a mind rant and keep going and forget to make paragraphs but i do see what you mean. People get lazy and go... naw not going to read it. lol  However if the content is interesting i'll keep going no matter what. I like reading anyway.

it's sad that about 90% will stop reading, or even 95% that's ALOT.

i get discouraged looking at Lord of the Rings original novel. And my husband keeps saying he'll read it someday lol

@elsa Well... this topic just came up with my family. My oldest son sent me a text and said.... do you think you could ever text a full paragraph instead of these snips you send HAHA I come here and write a novel! I do it because I don't think they have a lot of time so I get it all in in a blip.... I have been thinking that people don't want to read a paragraph anymore but he does. Who knew? I am sure my brain has been altered when communicating on SM.
