Have you heard of the Tarahumara? My husband lived with them for a time when he was in Special Forces. He said they ran all day long... they ran everywhere. Everyone ran everywhere. The old people ran everywhere too and they all ran barefoot.
They run up to 500 miles a week, and can run 100-200 miles in a a single run. The record for a single run is over 400 miles. Apparently they race ultra elite runners... beat them handily, even when the stop for smoke breaks, lol.
My husband said chia seeds were a major part of their diet. They ate them as part of every meal.
That is really cool because running can feel so good, and it's so healthy. I haven't been on a run in a month or two and I can't wait to get back into it. For now I'm just going to have a big drink of water. 😀
How interesting! Thanks Elsa!
