Please. Just stop. It doesn’t help anybody! What you did 30 years ago is in the past now.

Stop! Just stop.

-Sincerely, Saturn-

Stop punishing myself for what i did 30,20,10 years ago!!!

Easier sais than done!

But thanks for reminding me that perhaps I’m overdoing the Saturn bit, and that indeed, anything I do or don’t do will not change what has happened in the past.

How do you do it????

I realize that I can’t control everything. That helps, for me!

But what uses is of regretting something I did 10 years ago? How does being in my head going to help the world, me, or the person I wronged??

How does regretting something make me learn from my lesson, except to stress myself out and make my head hurt?

Thanks, anonymous. True, no-one can control everything, except that one is *supposed* to control one’s self!

I’d say the stuff I regret was partly things I didn’t control in myself, and things I should have done better, but apparently didn’t have the skills. My regrets run along the lines of “If only I’d known”. Of course, much later, things don’t look the same, have more knowledge or experience, and even a different mindset. Don’t have the experience at 20 you have at 40,50 etc.

I agree, self-torture is useless, it won’t change what happened, and perhaps lessons are learned.

None of us are perfect.  We all have regrets and things we’re not proud of in our past.  All you can do is learn from it and move on, try not to make the same mistakes again.

I have Saturn conjunct my Moon, natally.  Its almost exact, so I always had this inner critic picking on me my entire life until the day I told it to STFU.  Saturn criticism can get out of control and then it isn’t constructive, its destructive.  After I refused to listen to all the negative crap I was telling myself, I was able to accept my failures and move on.  You can’t cry over spilt milk forever.

This thread reminds me of this song.

I think that Virgo and Capricorn types are the most hardest on themselves.
