I expected direct deposit, but mine came in the mail last week. It’s all good!

Random thought in the bathtub tonight 🛀:

If we Americans are not truly united anymore, why do we still call ourselves the UNITED States of America? Or the UNITED States?

Why not just call ourselves The Country formerly known as the United States? (Can’t call ourselves America because we’re not the only America in the western hemisphere.)

(I heard Glenn Beck state on the radio, this morning, that we are divided. That’s what got my brain on that subject.)

I got mine about a month ago via direct deposit, almost immediately after they started processing them. I did my taxes online early this year so I had all my info on file with the IRS already.

I hope they decide to send more of them. I’d rather individuals get them than businesses, frankly.

I had a dream the other night where I heard “Counting Blue Cars” by Dishwalla playing. It’s stuck with me since then. The premise of the song is a spiritual journey.

Has this happened to anyone else?

That is interesting PurpleStar 🙂. Although I recall scenes from dreams, I have never experienced hearing songs/music.

Do you think you are experiencing some sort of spiritual awakening?

Have you had any specific thoughts/feelings accompany this recall, with the song?

Every once in a while, I feel the need to completely wipe my mind clean. Like I’ve just been collecting and consuming ideas and concepts. It’s fun to build up mental structures, even ones that are connected to my self image and then just shed them on a whim. I saw this practice that some monks do with sand (I may have posted it here or saw it here?). They create this intricate, time consuming piece of art with sand and then blow it all away when they are done. I’m not that disciplined lol, but I can dig the metaphor.

Wow, sounds like an interesting concept… but I’d be afraid to lose whatever wobbly mental stability I have!

On the other hand it must be very freeing. Do you then imagine yourself as someone completely different?

I saw a video of monks making a big mandala, they blowing it away. It does make one think of the ephemeral aspect of things. I bet they do a lot of meditation as they create the thing – long slow work, then WWHHOOOOSH! Clean slate.

It’s not really imaginative. Its the opposite really. Its like “what am I without the extras?” Or letting go of what’s not original. Or completely letting go of anything that is taking effort to uphold and seeing whats left. Its about seeing what is truly stable.

I guess I could immediately replace one structure with another. But the feeling of pure being feels so incredible that there’s no real urge to do that. But what does happen is that a new form is magically inspired to emerge, but it’s observed. I don’t really get my hands dirty, if that makes sense. And when that form gets stale, it really does seem to just disintegrate at it’s own Divine timing. And it’s beautiful, the creation and the destruction, only because they reveal the perfection that is supporting the whole process.

It’s easier than it sounds too and not so radical and actually super fun! Im always amazed at how everything just keeps functioning when I do this lol. The world keeps turning, the heart still pumps blood, Im still able to speak, I have memory, but it’s only there when I need it, I still have preferences, a sense of humor, but all of this is just a natural radiance as opposed to a construction. In that way, Im new to myself in every moment! How exciting is that?

I laugh at how useless the construction of the ego really is for most things, but how insanely tight I held onto, what is basically, a set of ideas for so long. It’s the egos fear that is felt, because it doesn’t want us to see that its not as necessary as it makes itself out to be.

I just thought of another fun way that I used to do this. I’d approach my day as if I were an alien and this was my first day on Earth. I wouldn’t invent an elaborate past, the point was just to see the world and myself with fresh eyes.

Ah – I understand better!

Indeed, “what am I without the extras?” is trying to get down to the nitty gritty!

Interesting exercise – thanks for your thought-provoking posts Libra Noir!

(For some silly reason just thought of translating your name in French – it would be “Balance Black”… Not quite as cool as the original!!! cool )
