“To all of us who hold the Christian belief that God is truth, anything that is true is a fact about God, and mathematics is a branch of theology.”

~Hilda Phoebe Hudson

This is super interesting.  Enduring uniqueness of mathematics.

What do you think?

“My point is that in what other class are you performing the same operations as people were performing 3000 years ago?”

Whoa. Good point! That made me stop and think.

An expression of truth, in that stays, it never disappears… Truth continues.

There was a video I saw one time, someone had put sand (or something similar) on top of a speaker playing music, the sand formed geometric shapes, like sacred geometry… the shapes of sound.

I was playing around with sacred geometry not too long ago, creating digital images with photos that I took… I was able to create some really beautiful images. You would think, with the structure of sacred geometry, with the same steps and patterns, that freedom would be limited, freedom of expression. …but really, I found quite the opposite… the opportunities were limitless, though confined to an overall structure.

This makes me want to create…

Thank you for this!

You’re welcome, Shan.   I thought it was super cool.

That’s Hilda, who is quoted above. She’s a Gemini with a Sadge Moon, which is perfect for her quote – yes?

But she also has a large stellium in Taurus…Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto.

She was something else. Check her bio.

This is from the same site. I’m too tired to read but it looks cool.

Bump

I love this topic. In some Indian traditions, they believed the same about grammar, which is cool because grammar and math are both abstract and formulaic.

All roads lead to Rome.

Always thought it was the other way around, theology is a concept derived from mathematics, as is everything else in the universe which is decipherable by numbers which is a translatable language and present in the physical form of everything, and of which we and everything are a part.

This is really interesting. I want to respond but I can’t quite articulate my idea.

I know that some people believe that a combination of numerological symbology paired with basic nature symbology (or otherwise the cards of truth, or a regular deck of playing cards), is the simplest and most logical divinatory tool, and the one closest to truth.

I think your idea stems from Aristotle, which Descartes tried to counter by saying that humans are incapable of conceiving the infinite (God); I could be wrong, my memory is fuzzy.

I know you weren’t saying any of that, but that’s what it inspired in me.

This is how God is in everything. Is everything. I think math is the masculine, left brained side of God. I just always try to remember though, with everything present here, to not mistake the finger pointing at the Moon, for the Moon itself.

I wonder too, wether there are Universes that are based on different math? Is there a universe where 1 plus 1 equals 3?

That is compelling, but my very first thought was are there universes where math don’t exist at all? Which then makes me think that if math is masculine, it could only exist in a universe whose foundation was based in duality, such that there could be other universes where androgyny is total, and logic and intuition have merged and become inseparable. A potential for 1+1 to equal 3.
