Life Tips Of All Kinds
I ran across a question; someone wanted to know how to make their sheets white like you see in a hotel. I have wondered this myself! Clothes seem dingy as compared to when I was a kid.
Someone said to add 1t of TSP to the wash. I'd never heard of it before but I decided to get a box of it and check it out.
It's very affordable and turns out it works incredibly well, not just on whites but on everything. Add a teaspoon to your laundry and you will definitely see a difference. You can search on other uses... there are many.
Zote soap. From what I understand, it’s a good solid all-purpose soap. You can wash dishes, laundry (even delicates) and body with it and it’s safe to use. Some homesteaders and preppers grate the soap and mix with washing soda or other additives to create a cheap and very effective homemade laundry soap.
You can also rub a bar on your skin to keep mosquitoes away due to the citronella oil in it.
TSP will simply place phosphates back into your detergent, which will help remove stains & make whites brighter. However, states have been banning phosphates in detergent b/c it destroys the ecosystem. Encourages algae growth, which starves out oxygen & kills life. Did this in 1970s when I was living there. Other states more recently on board. I remember reading a correlation study some years ago of increased incidence of ALS in folks swimming in bodies of water with blue green algae blooms. Use sparingly, if at all, I would say.
