Clothing stores are minimally stocked now. A few sizes and a sign saying the other sizes are available online.

@giovanni Just today I was talking to a nurse who just took her mother home from the ER. Almost a 24-hour wait to get a hospital room—and they arrived in the middle of the night!

She’s prepared to keep her home and insert an NG tube in her, herself, the next time she has a bowel blockage (unless she vomits, in which case all bets are off).

This is what I meant when I said (Patriot Nurse said it first) that people need to be prepared to give their loved ones medical care AT HOME.

Southernprepper1 is urging anyone who  is not vaxxed to stock up on medical supplies now, and ask hospital nurses what they use every day at work. Rumor has it Israel is going to deny healthcare to anyone who is unvaxxed. He anticipates this could happen in the U.S. as well. I hope he’s wrong.

@giovanni One more thing….when a nurse is ready to intubate her own mother rather than put her in the hospital system again, and when a man dies from lack of ability to get an ICU bed or treatment from an infection due to freaking gallstones….it’s safe to say the healthcare system has already imploded.

Today I spoke with my housemate’s younger daughter. She filled me in on scary stuff she’s seeing out there. Even she’s starting to get scared, and she normally doesn’t get worried about stuff.

She took her mother out for errands yesterday. At about 6:30 PM, she told me that the local Subway was closed and their door locked! She then took her to Walmart. Had trouble finding the lettuce her mom likes. She’s seeing holes in the shelves like I am and produce is either picked through or rotting. I’ve seen whole sections in the frozen foods section GONE.

So I’m planning to sign up for a Costco membership, ASAP. It’s time to pick up the pace on getting food, supplies and skills in place, especially before the v mandates kick in and maybe trucks stop coming in as often.

@notmycircus

I get all my groceries delivered from Wal-Mart.  Last night I (regrettably!) updated their app before completing my next order.  Suddenly many non-perishable items that I usually get delivered are "Shipped Only," and more than usual are Out Of Stock.

I heard this on the radio - man dropped off his clothes to be dry cleaned. He learned the business is only open two days a week now. They can't find workers.

Heard someone in trucking in us say they are struggling terribly already. Freight delayed a month. Being put on trains... What took 4 days now takes 30 or more.

He said almost all trucking companies have more than 100 employees. The drivers will walk off the job in droves if forced deal is put in place.

I tracked a package and watched it go up and down the freeway 4 times right past the town I live in.  It spent 1 week going back and forth from Louisville to Nashville.  I thought of you Elsa and was ready to drive to a RR siding to get my goods.

@daisy great to see you, daisy! Wow!

The guy talking about trucking is a broker. Liaison between customer and hauler. Previously a dispatcher for fed ex in los Angeles.

He also said the freight is put on a train. Once that happens, you can't get it off.
