My IQ score is 140. Jupiter retro in Cap 5th H.

Studious. I like research.

Considering to be an investigating journalist (an extinct species nowadays).

I just learned from a co-worker last week of a nearby university that offers free psychological evaluations, including IQ testing, and low-cost counseling services that I've been strongly considering checking out.

My plate is too full at the moment to consider another attempt, serious this time, at college education and a change in career path.

At the time I had no idea what the quantification of the testing meant, but being left to my own devices to progress as quickly as I wanted in textbooks and just turn in a show of work each day in some of the classes in what remained of my elementary schooling was pretty nice.

I was scored at 144 when I was 13 years old.

My IQ is 128, I am 61. Years ago a man wrote a book about emotional Quotient being a much more important factor of success in life. I agree.

Coming from an intellectually brilliant emotional retard, I don't even have to read the book to say, ain't that the damn truth...

Hmmm..... 120. They just had to put in Math questions which made no sense. Then again, so did some of the math I had to do to earn my Stationary Engineer's License (class-1). Well..... Ok, those at least I knew the formulas to do them. I'm somewhere in mid-50's (don't care to track birthdays anymore).

116. Ha! I'm an intellectual retard AND an emotional moron. Forty-three years on this planet. I can write and publish books and play with scissors and markers. That's about it. In 1999 I applied for a job at The Church of Scientology in Austin. I scored 145 on that IQ test. It was rigged! They also gave me a personality test that showed I'm stubborn. Damn right. I refused to buy one of their bullshit books that they said would help me overcome my stubbornness.

Woo-hoo, 142!  I was told it was 138 in high school.  What good it does I have no idea...

paragaster, is the degree of 6' 57" Scorpio significant in your chart?  Check out the fixed star Khamballa (noticed it because it's exactly conjunct my Saturn in 9th -- my curiosity can be obsessive at times).

"Fixed Stars -- 6°57 Scorpio - Khambalia: Deep research of any kind, police investigation, espionage and esoteric subjects. Fortunate; Mercury/ Mars."

127. We'll, that was my score on that small informal one on the link. I've always felt like I was pretty smart but not really smart enough to do anything with it. Just smart enough to be annoying:)

I scored 149 and when I went back through the answers I got 20/20.

But what a load of horseshit.

Those questions have tons of culture bias. Firstly if you don't speak English, you'll not get the anagrams. If you didn't do massive at high school, you'll struggle on some of the percentages and so on.

Paragaster - if you're going to be an investigative reporter, I suggest you hone your skills by looking at the history of IQ testing, how it was used in eugenics programmes, how it is culture-biased, whether it actually shows validity for intelligence. (Hint - it doesn't. You can read up on Goleman's Emotional Intelligence and Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences to begin to get an idea of why).

Anyway ... IQ testing aside ... good luck with the future career.

Ok I think this test is bogus..Just  took it and I am not alert, just on my first cup of coffee, says my iq is 133. More extensive tests has me at 128. I like taking the tests though.. stimulates this old mind of mine that feels likes its turning into putty.

And I got 145 because I think that if a leaf is a finger a branch is a better analog to a hand than a twig.

The place that apparently bought the place Paragaster linked has a culture fair test although its a demo and not worth much.

https://www.123test.com/culture-fair-intelligence-test/

At any rate, the test isn't worth much as an IQ test because it's untimed and not proctored and not extensive etc. (Although to be fair it wasn't far off my actual measured IQ.)

Paragaster - if you're going to be an investigative reporter, I suggest you hone your skills by looking at the history of IQ testing, how it was used in eugenics programmes, how it is culture-biased, whether it actually shows validity for intelligence. It's not worth that much but it's worth something. Eugenics or no. (The problem with the eugenics is the eugenics, not the testing.)

To get into Mensa your IQ needs to be in the top 2% in the world. My parents are both in it and go to the national Mensa gathering every year. My Mom says it's hordes of unemployed or underemployed people sitting around complaining about how they can't keep/get a job. My grandfather was a genius with a Masters of Engineering from Harvard and he never managed to get a good job. He was in his prime in the 40s and 50s, and he lived just an hour outside of NYC. My other grandfather was also a genius and an Engineer and he died a millionaire. And that was after adopting 4 kids in his early 20s, and then having 4 more right after. My Dad has two masters and spent most of my life as an assistant manager at Walgreens because he couldn't find anything better. He was a teacher when I was born, but the amount of pure stupidity when it comes to why he couldn't keep a teaching job is astonishing. I am pretty sure his EQ is exactly 0. My Mom on the other hand luckily inherited that precious EQ and she's a successful lawyer. My Mom's family is actually split pretty well between super smart at life and academics, and super smart at academics but complete failures at life. I wonder where EQ comes from? Nature or nuture?

Anyways, I never had a formal IQ test. They had stopped giving them in school by the time I got there. This test gives me a 142. Genetically I should have a high IQ. Luckily for me, my Mom has stressed EQ ideals over IQ my entire life. All my brothers and I have to do is look at my Dad and do the opposite 😛
