No liquid soap in 3 stores. No tissues or paper towels either. Finally found tissues at Walmart.

I had trouble finding tissues too. I went on a supply run a few days ago and both stores I went to only had several of the miniature boxes left. I found paper towels and TP without trouble, but tissues were nearly cleaned out and no one’s talking about it.

I found 3 # of Rice weeks ago. Only rice literally on the shelf and I grabbed it. We don’t even eat that much of it, but now we’ll have it for the entire year probably. Wild.

Back from Krogers.
Kitty litter was out. Dry cat food was 20% stocked. Dry dog food was 30% stocked. No toilet paper. No paper towels. 5% stock on facial tissues was some with added lotion and/or scent. My particular cereal was sold out, as were some of the sugar loaded brands. The frozen foods and fresh produce were well stocked. So was dairy.

There was a huge flashing traffic type sign out front. ‚ÄúStay in vehicles until doors open.‚ÄĚ ¬†Inside the door was a sign for 400 customers limit. Governor‚Äôs order to have only one person per family, with exceptions, looked to be obeyed. I saw no family units, no kids. There were directional arrows on the floor to promote one way traffic in the aisles. The cough screens at ¬†check out are new.¬†

It is a good thing I was wearing a mask, folded bandana, ¬†because I was laughing at the song playing in the store. It was the Talking Heads going over the chorus, ‚ÄúSame as it ever was. Same as it ever was.‚ÄĚ Etc. It was so very surreal.¬†

I had to order a week ahead, too. Fingers crossed that they have 91% alcohol in my order and don’t substitute it with 50%. I’m trying to keep a client supplied with rubbing alcohol because she cleans her stuff with it due to chronic infections. 50% doesn’t quite kill this virus.

One Kroger in a nearby county has had NO open slots, ever. eek_gif

Everybody’s into making homemade masks now, with coffee filters in them, so I am expecting coffee filters to disappear like the TP did.

I’ll admit I bought a big pack of coffee filters just for this, but I do work in home care. I’ll probably end up giving some of them to my housemates since they have a coffee pot that uses them.

My daughter does night stocking at the local WM. She says most of the supply is there. It is sold out quickly with people buying double their usual amount.

I found liquid soap after 4 weeks of nothing so there is hope. It must be flying off the shelves and I hit the right time to find it.

Today I’m scheduled for a grocery pickup at Kroger. This will be very different from the last one I had, about a year ago.¬†

Last time, everything I ordered was available with no substitutions needed.

Today, I was notified that a lot of the items on my list don’t even have available substitutions! So I will get no beef ramen noodles, only one carton of eggs instead of two (I eat 1-2 every morning), no Emergen-C, no rubbing alcohol, etc. Looked like a third of the order could not be filled.¬†

So I guess my plan to do this biweekly is out. I will have to schedule one pickup, EVERY week, a week ahead of time. I will have to start getting flexible about holes in the pantry and fridge. I’ll have to start taking after my mother and learn to PLAN AHEAD and stretch resources as much as possible.
