@warped lives in FL. right? Who else?

I have quite a few clients in FL but have not heard anything yet. It looks horrific.  Where is a good source for news? Anyone?

Hiya! Ft. Myers has been hit and it seems now to be heading Northeast across FL, right over me, and up the Atlantic coast. I'm pretty battened down, going to add another slide bolt to my French doors, cook up more of my frozen food, make a couple of pots of coffee, etc. For some reason my brand new batteries won't power my radios that run daily on electricity, so once power is out Ill conserve phone battery and stay offline. My poor eyes will thank me. If car battery doesnt fail Ill have charge potential and radio. Have tons of food, water, etc. Only real worries are surrounding tall trees and risk no a/c for my dog for days. Lost power for 5 days after Irma. As usual I kept procrastinating about getting a Solar Generator...

Also on guilt trip over spraying some wasp nests I found while piling up wicker porch chairs.  Reflexive.  But they didn't need to die, I'm sorry!  Don't want bad karma now or ever.  Never again!

Well, as secure as anyone can ever be.  The big risk is always tornados, and they're making this storm sound worse than any even my 100+ year old house on high ground has survived.  My will is up to date, and I'm wearing clean clothes -- once I've finished cooking and coerce or carry my dog outside for a quick pee, it'll be time to "Give it to God and go to sleep!"

Some good storm news sources:  WDBO Radio, Orlando Sentinel newspaper, WFLA Radio Orlando.

Thank you @jana!

So far so good.  Ian appears to be turning east and staying south of Orlando (I'm north of that city), and is down to Cat 2.  Of course this could change at any time.

My cousin's daughter lives in Sarasota. She has been texting both her mother and my sister. They made it with only a few shingles missing and some broken poles/supports over their pool. Water in front yard last night.  They removed the metal hurricane shutters to get in some fresh air. They were starting up their generator this morning.

My area was spared as the storm veered east and stayed way south of us.  Lots of wind and rain but no thunder, amazing.  So thankful!  ❤🙏

We really have been blessed here!  I still can hardly believe I actually made the right choice -- inland, higher ground, not too close to water -- it was truly divine guidance!  Not that any area is ever totally safe, but coastal just doesn't make sense.  .

Please keep those who were so horribly impacted in your prayers.
