Capricorn is known for its gallows humor, and Millennials, the Neptune in Capricorn generation, are becoming famous for this. There's a running joke among Millennials that they're all a little suicidal. The meme below from March is a good example.

As far as I can tell, this humor isn't meant to shock or to make light of the unspeakable horror of real suicide, but instead to strengthen a sense of community by acknowledging (with a wink) that Millennials are generally a somewhat disillusioned generation.

What do you think of this? Have you encountered this kind humor? Do you think it's unique to Millennials, or have you seen it across generations? Do you think it's harmful to joke this way?

Yes I have totally noticed that but I never connected with the Capricorn Neptune until you said that. I'm a Gen X er but I immediately thought of three people who happen to be born in the same year (93) who have that same humor and I like it because I have a lot of laugh in the dark to myself, 8th house stuff on my end.

People first began noticing Generation X's distinct humour when they were children:

There's a different kind of pessimism in this generation but my brain is too fried today to articulate just what it is..I think maybe the whole latchkey kid, parents divorce and it's still like STIGMA and just three mile island, love canal and such just kinda made us wanting to save the planet but coming of age in a world where we had to be the parent sometimes too more spoiled Boomer parents and so we weren't...

 There's a snarky love of irony and sarcasm in a lot of Gen X humor and I think millennials have a little less grittiness and potential nihilism to the is like Capricorn y Dad jokes yet with that twist of the dark Scorp Pluto in for good measure.

@theverymostpaw ? ? ?

The Gen X reaction is spot on. While the Boomers and Millies are busy reenacting the Civil War, we're chewing our popcorn and watching the shitshow.
