I just went to Twitter to look up something. Noticed that Lupus is trending. Some lupus patients are PISSED that the President admitted to taking hydroxychloroquine. They can’t get their medicine (some since March!) and now they’re scared his supporters will make a run on the medicine to take for themselves.

That does suck. More supply chain issues?

Sounds like doctors are telling their patients to ration their prescriptions, and some pharmacies aren’t filling scripts (some of them haven’t filled them for two months!). So I’m guessing it’s not a supply chain problem–it’s a hoarding problem on the pharmaceutical end. They’re saving those pills for COVID-19 patients.

But that doesn’t square with doctors complaining about not getting the scripts filled for their Covid patients and people traveling into other states to find a pharmacy that would fill it. I don’t know. I guess we need more info. It’s a shame that anyone, with any condition, can’t get what they need when it’s so inexpensive to begin with.

There is a trial utilising the T.B. Vaccine 💉. This boosts lung immunity, so may be helpful in preventing Covid. I can’t wait to hear the results of the trials 🙏🏻

They are manufacturing the hell out of this drug. The shortages will be short-lived. And remember, people who are having no problem do not post on the internet.
My 180 pills will arrive today.

New article on Hydroxy Chloroquine treatement of Covid 19

I don’t understand why this has become so dang politicized!

https://academic.oup.com/aje/a…..93/5847586

“Five studies, including two controlled clinical trials, have demonstrated significant major outpatient treatment efficacy. Hydroxychloroquine+azithromycin has been used as standard-of-care in more than 300,000 older adults with multicomorbidities, with estimated proportion diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmias attributable to the medications 47/100,000 users, of which estimated mortality is <20%, 9/100,000 users, compared to the 10,000 Americans now dying each week. These medications need to be widely available and promoted immediately for physicians to prescribe.”

I know, the politics getting into it is dumb. Speaking of, the WHO stopped trials of HCQ, apparently over safety issues. Now the President is severing U.S. relations with the WHO. Not sure if one situation is connected to the other.

Just to clarify: I’m not starting any debates here. This was merely a question that popped in my head. Gemini season.

He’s walking that back a little on total defunding and will resume some funding of the WHO. He’s now focusing more on China, as he should. The WHO was pretty lame in the beginning of the pandemic and they are China-centric. But they have some utility and that is being recognized. But yah, you’re right. it’s all connected. The media is blowing on the flames as well. It’s a mess.  HC seems to be the safest bet at the onset of Covid-19, and if I come down with it, I will get it one way or the other.
