I can never figure out whether to use the true node or the mean node. Does it matter? Does anyone notice a difference?

@aspire I use true because why use the average location when you can use the actual location? I have Virgo though....

@aspire I thought true node and mean mode were the same thing. Maybe that's just true node and north node and not mean node.

@purplestargirl mean being a math term

The Arithmetic Mean is the average of the numbers: a calculated "central" value of a set of numbers.

Why doesn’t the moon spin on its axis?

And, does anyone know of a good (preferably free or close to free) resource for learning remedial Latin (if there is such a thing as remedial Latin)?

@libra-noir

The moon rotates on its axis once per revolution. That’s why the same side faces the earth all the time. I believe it’s called “tidal locking”.

I am looking at my solar return which has everything in the 4th house including Moon conjunct Saturn. Is there a way to figure out when this will hit just using the solar return, ie without using lunar returns? The solar chart is so dramatic, the lunars are not.

Would it be during the month of Capricorn?

@aspire the solar return is a standalone chart that covers a year, birthday to birthday.

@elsa So is each month after your birthday represented by The subsequent month in the solar return chart? If so, it looks like January is going to be super intense!

I’ve never heard it explained like that, so I will go back and look at past SRs to see. Tho I don’t recall ever having such a packed house in a SR.  Kinda hoping it is not a valid idea!!

@aspire I don't think so. I am not sure I understand your question.

A solar return is a chart cast for the time when the sun (solar) returns to the exact place it was when you were born. Once a year!

A lunar return is a chart cast for the time when the moon (lunar) returns to the exact place it was when you were born. (Approximately once a month).

I will write a post on this.

The lunar returns indicate, you'll be fairly comfortable with the solar situation. Smile

@elsa   Oh thank you! That is reassuring as I was kind of catastrophizing. Shocked

Trying to figure out how to restate my question. How’s this: can you look at the solar return chart with each house as a month, beginning with your solar return sun’s house as the first?  My guess is the answer is no.

i really want to understand this Solar/Lunar return stuff, it feels like it is the key to integrating astrology into daily life. When I get home I’m going to do a thorough search of the site because I know this topic has come up often. Thank you again!

Hi, this isn't meant as a reply. I have a question. I'm considering going on a 'ghost hunt' to and old cemetery on Halloween night. I've never had any supernatural experiences. Is it not wise to seek out such phenomena?

In my experience, 99 times out of 100, those ghost hunts are just good, clean, creepy fun with nothing supernatural happening at all.

That said, it's never a bad idea to end the night with a good burn of sage or rosemary and a little prayer for purification and protection. And, of course, try to be as respectful as possible during the ghost hunt (no taking things, damaging property, etc).

But overall, I would say to go and have a great time. Smile

@klara You could say a prayer of protection and state that your intent to connect will only be used in the best interests of all.

I actually have multiple questions.

1. What is the significance of the full moon conjunct Uranus on Halloween this year? Is it a house by house thing depending on your personal natal chart?

2. Is having a full moon on your birthday any way significant?

3. Why does my guy friend call every guy that walks by my boyfriend when we're hanging out? I have no interest in dating anyone at the moment.
