@elsa

Interesting. It's transiting my 6th house now and I think my friend is trying to help me out with a job when I move back to Oregon, which will be on the 1st of next month.

I do think this thread is causing those with tons of those with 3rd house energy so much glee. Hehe.

How can someone tell if rose quartz is real? For example, I bought a pendant that is supposed to be rose quartz last year and I'm not sure if it's real or not. By looking at the crystal, how could I tell if it's real or not?

@purplestargirl I would look for any kind of imperfections that would prove it real. If it's perfect then it's probably glass. I held mine up to the window with the sun shining through it and you can tell it's not perfect.

@purplestargirl yeah, I would say that it's real. My stone has some white where it was broken off another piece probably from the hammer strike

@tam I'm wearing it today. I also probably should cleanse it with dry sea salt again. For that, I just put the pendant in a mason jar that has sea salt inside and leave it there for a while.

@tam I also asked my stepdad and he said it was real after taking a look at it.

@purplestargirl

Is the rose quartz transparent enough to allow light to pass through it?  If so, I can advise you.

I will try to explain. Quartz is will strongly rotate polarized light. Glass will not rotate polarized light at all as it isn’t truly crystalline. (Cubic crystals like table salt will not rotate polarized light either.)

When we look through polarized sunglasses, we are looking at polarized light.

When two polarized filters are placed on top of each other, but one is rotated at a right angles, no light will pass through the two of them.

To test your stone, get one or two pairs of polarized light sunglasses. Place one lens on top of the other and rotate until no light passes through them. Place your stone between the lenses.  Quartz will shine very brightly. Glass will not be at all visible.

I hope this is helpful to you.

Rose quartz is the stone of love. Sensitives can feel it when placed in the palm of the hand. < — to be woo woo, after my scientific explanation!

What it looks like when I hold it up to light.

When I first wore it after cleansing it with sea salt, my heart chakra started to hurt.

I can feel stones sometimes when I hold them in my hands, depending on what they are.

That is a pretty stone. It looks like the rose quartz I’ve seen.  Unfortunately, it does look too thick to transmit light through it.

@purplestargirl I have a rose quartz heart as well as the rough stone I looked through for you, it looks just like yours so it's real.

@tam Thanks! I think I need to recharge and cleanse it though. I'll wait until I move before I do that because I'll be able to get the tools needed for that once I'm back.

Has anyone burned sage before? What has been your experience?

@vesta I've burned sage a few times. The scent is distinctive, not altogether unpleasant, and it does smoke quite a bit. In my experience, it also can go out frequently, so I need to keep relighting it, and it can drop quite a few ashes/sparks, so it's best to burn over a receptacle/plate etc. as you carry it, unless you're burning it outside 😀

@plutolover Thank you. I plan to burn it indoors. So, a receptacle/plate is a great suggestion. Did you notice any noticeable difference in your environment afterwards? Is there any ritual that you follow before, during or after burning it?

@vesta The feeling in the air afterwards was lighter/calmer and I felt much more positive. There isn't any ritual I follow, I just kind of visualise the nasty energies being 'smoked out' by the sage whilst I burn it, then open windows and doors afterwards to usher them out. You can also buy 'smokeless' sage essential oil infused in water in a spray bottle if that resonates more with you.

@vesta this reminds me of the time I was cleansing a new home before we moved in. The cleaners had scrubbed, and after work I went to burn my herbs, candles and do my thing. In doing so I accidentally tripped the fire alarm and the sprinkler system came on only one room (the room that clearly needed to be washed of negative energy). I couldn't turn it off, and a fire engine arrived.

Needless to say, the look on the fire man's face was priceless - when I explained what I was doing in the middle of the night burning herbs and candles.

He asked: "Are you some kind of witch?"

I've never been more flattered.

@vesta

I use sage spray because I can't burn in my living spaces and I try to be mindful of people who have issues with breathing smoke. I always feel calm after using it and whatever room I'm in feels lighter.

A friend of mine burned actual sage in his living room once and I couldn't be around that because it made me dizzy.

@vesta

I have never burned sage.

I have read stories of people growing sage in pots inside their house. It was done in haunted houses. Keeping a plant is considered a long term protection.

@sue-ellen Thanks for sharing! Maybe I will choose this way too...better to make my own bundle in future too! The one I ordered costs a pretty penny.

Sabian Symbols: I've just taken a look at them again and really am struck by how much they resonate. Do you use them and find them meaningful Elsa? 😊

**if your not familiar with using them folks make sure you read for the next degree. example: sun Capricon 14 degrees 32 min. = sabian symbol # 15.

@jana decades ago, when I was studying astrology by reading essentially every book ever published on the topic (pre-internet for the most part), I bought three books on sabian symbols, to look into them. This was one of them...and my favorite.

https://astrologyinaction.com/360-degrees-of-the-zodiac

I don't remember the others, but I cross-referenced the three books...I worked with all three, at the same time, in order to see if i could extract something useful.

I wanted it to work. I made the investment, in the books and with my time, but ultimately i set them aside.

This does not mean they aren't valid or useful. But i did conclude, they were not a tool that would be useful for me, as an individual.

Are sextiles and trines important in both natals and synastry?

Yes!

This is from Satori:

Textiles are great, and greatly underrated.

@elsa Great read. Thanks. Does the same explanation also apply to synastry as well?

How does 1st/7th house projection work if two people each have planets in those respective houses? An example would be someone with Pluto in their 7th house trying to project that house energy onto someone but that other person has Pluto in their 1st house, regardless if they have different signs for that axis in their respective charts. I'm making the assumption here if that is the case, then that the projection wouldn't work or the energy would be just be balanced out between the individuals.

Or would that projection only work if both people have the same opposite signs in those houses (i.e. Libra/Aries)?

Edit: I'm not sure why the text is coming out bold in this thread either.
