Is there anything you're curious about?  This is the place to ask!

The question that prompted me start this thread is this: Are you an accountant who prepares tax returns?

What percentage of your clients are audited each year? Any other details you can share for the curious?

Thanks!

Does anyone know why my progressed chart on Astro.com is not like my progressed chart in real astrology software?

on astro.com my ascendant is Leo 4 degrees 54 minutes

in real software, my ascendant is Leo 0 degrees 45 minutes

@tam I can't say for sure, but astro.com does throw errors, regularly. I have had to fight it out many times because of discrepancies. My software (Kepler) invariably winds up being correct.

The other possibility is you are relocating your progressed chart in one program but not the other.

Your settings for the PROGRESSED ANGLES were different for each calculation. Don't know what astrodotcom uses or if you have to choose it, I have never used it. My program has 5 different settings for ANGLE progression rates. My progressed ASC for yours (if I have it correct) comes to 0° Leo 34' set for the True Solar Arc in Longitude, but using the setting for Naibod in Right Ascension the prog asc comes to 4°Leo 53'. Also the three other Progressed Angle settings give different results for the Progressed Ascendants based on the same Natal chart.

@wintermoon Thanks! I was just curious. I bet this messes a lot of people up that don't know better like myself.

What would happen if someone put plum hair dye over already dyed garnet red hair? Would it turn a murky brown? Or would it be a purple berry color of sorts?

@purplestargirl In my experience, it turns out a berry color, but MUCH darker than expected. That said, it varies depending on the type of color used, whether your hair was bleached first, etc. If your hair was bleached before the garnet red was added, you're more likely to end up with the berry color you're hoping for.

Also, the blue in the plum washes out more quickly than the red, so it's likely to turn maroon pretty quickly unless you use a blue wash.

No expertise here, just a lot of Leo and a lot of experimentation. Smile

@midara Thanks Midara! II'm starting to enjoy experimenting because I have a lot of Aquarius. I like different colors.

The store manager at Sally Beauty actually said it wouldn't go muddy. I use Ion brand hair color. This time I used a processing cap for the hair dye for 45 minutes and then deep conditioned for another half hour. I also have to use clarifying shampoo a couple times a month as well because our water has calcium deposits in it and that also strips out color.

What is the cheapest way to build a fence or a perimeter around a property? I realize that the idea is of psychological safety, and not really stopping human beings intent on jumping fence or breaking locks.

@vesta Is it windy where the property is? Because it is where I live so a wire fence works better than fence panels. Not sure if you have fence panels where you live. Planting shrubs looks the best and forms a perimeter. If you aren't going to live there for a long time the shrubs could be in pots.

@tam Thank you for the idea and such a pretty picture to accompany it. It can be windy here, but also it snows like hell (some years). Basically, November to March, it will be tough to keep the bushes or shrubs alive.

@vesta

First find out the restrictions for your area.  My sister lived in an HOA in which only one kind of fence is allowed. Where my daughter lives in an older city subdivision, she has three kinds of fence around her property. When we lived in town, there were subdivision regulations on fence height, etc.

Also, in my state, a property line fence is jointly owned and jointly maintained. So, sometimes a property owner will inset their fence a few inches so the neighbor can’t change it. Wow, don’t I sound like the retired regulator that I am?

Years ago I read a comparison of fencing materials for livestock. The 30 year cost analysis said wire field fencing was cheapest. The plastic plank and wood plank were more expensive long term. In the 27 years we have lived on our small farm, we have replaced the wood plank fence on the road frontage, but not the galvanized steel wire field perimeter fence.  Wood fencing requires painting.  Plastic/vinyl requires power washing.  Metal T posts are cheaper than wooden posts, but should not be used for gate posts or corner posts as they aren’t strong enough. Corner posts and gate posts should be heavier than in-line posts.

Fencing contractors can give estimates. Hardware stores and farm stores may be able to do some cost estimates as well.

The old saying is true: “Good fences make good neighbors.”

@sue-ellen Oh man! Are you thorough! Thank you so, so much, I will keep your very precious advice in mind. May come back to you with more questions later, if you don't mind.

Steel wire may look odd in our country, as most people have unsecured, completely open plots. Freaks me out though. I would prefer wood, but the cost is astronomical. I will ask the local hardware supermart. It overwhelms me to go there on my own.

Does Uranus retrograde affect computers like Mercury retrograde does?

@anonymoushermit my opinion - no. Computers are Mercurial. Uranus is the Awakener.

Now if you computer is fried by a lightning strike, then maybe. Idea

Interesting. I've heard that anything related to technology, including computers, was Aquarius/Uranian-ruled. I know quite a few Uranians, myself included, that excel when it comes to technology and computers. But then again, I have a heavy 3rd house presence as well.

I personally think computers tend go wonky during Mercury retrograde because it's my understanding that Mercury rules anything doing with data, which is stored on your computer nowadays. When the retrograde energy hits, it can screw up the data and computers go haywire because of that.

@purplestargirl,

with all due respect to Elsa, Elsa did say that it was her opinion.

I do think computers are still ruled by Uranus. But, there's something about Mercury that causes everything electronic, and machine-like, to go awry!

Is a walkie-talkie Uranus-ruled?
How about a ham radio?
How about a calculator?
Is mail Uranus ruled?

I'm not trying to convince anyone. This is my logic.

I would say the devices themselves are Mercury. The object that you hold in your hands or sits on your desk, the thing with buttons on it, etc.

The electricity that is running through them, the airwaves, the cloud, is Uranus stuff.

@elsa They say Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury so they could be related. I don't know your thoughts on higher octaves of the planets.

And I'm not trying to dissuade your logic or anything. I really think it's an interesting perspective. Smile

@anonymoushermit.Computers are ruled by Mercury according to the Horary Reference Book in regard to planet rulers. Perhaps the reasoning is that the process of Mercury is thinking which would be involved in using same also computers are used for  communication and storage of data, which are mercurial. Uranus is the ruler of electricity and sudden happenings. Horary is not Astrology, which assigns Planets to Zodiacal Signs, so the assignment of planets in horary to things and such will tend to be arbitrary.
