Let's say your 10th house cusp is Cancer, but you have a Leo Midheaven.
Or, like me, you have a Virgo 10th house cusp, but you have a Libra Midheaven.
I can't find any info on this, and it's been confusing me for awhile. Also, I've read that the 6th house indicates working for a boss, or odd jobs, while your 10th house indicates self-employment or something you want to work towards consciously as a solid career path.
This thread got me thinking about it again.

My MC is 29 59 Pisces. All but one minute of my 10th house is Aries (and as I used Placidus house system usually, my 10th also includes the first 9 degrees of Taurus. I have a big 10th house and correspondingly, 4th house. Is there something potent to the last minute of Pisces though???
I have the Pluto Saturn Jupiter mash up in my 6th house currently (Capricorn). I often have found that my daily work includes awareness of status in the world. Much often to my chagrin - maybe because of that potent MC of Pisces which is all about universal compassion and certainly not big on status centred on economic hierarchy.
Jupiter is natally in my 10th house at 13 degrees Aries. I have luck when I go with my identity and give it full reign. The identity feature is huge of course with Aries When I suss out the identity message, my being in the world expands definitely.
Using equal houses can give results of a 10h cusp sign being other than the inserted MC ° sign.
Basically 6h is jobs, skills, work and service to others, daily life, health and 10h is profession, career, social status and public image. 9h is the house of higher learning to study and gain the knowledge to enable one to pursue a profession or career.
?
Personally, I've simply decoupled the concept of MC from that of 10th house.
I look at my MC as me standing on top of the world, in public, in the wide open, where everyone can see me, without necessarily knowing me. What do they see?
I then look at my 10th house as career, etc.
So, in your case, people "see" Libra.
In terms of career, you want to incorporate Virgo.
The two go well together. You've made a career in a helping field (Virgo) and your clients see you as a fair and loving (Libra) caregiver (Virgo) -- this is good!
Thanks! I 've been thinking about this. I do think I (unconsciously) weave the Virgo and Libra together. Just following one or the other does not feel right.
