I just think she is silly and no one has ever told her just how silly. She serves it up with such confidence…..it’s stunning.

Well I’m glad to see some of the Democrat leadership criticizing the Green New Deal. It really damages their credibility. Co-sponsor Ed Markey really should have known better. An environmental bill that masks socialist economic mandates is dangerous.

I can’t believe all the Dems running for president are for the Green New Deal.  I bet they didn’t read it.  They’re making total fools of themselves.  One thing is for sure, AOC has breathed life into the old Dem party.  She’s doing for them what Trump did  for the Republican party.

Dems have always been big on environmental legislation and socialism.  They believe in big government solutions.  If you look at the scope of what they want to do with the GND, its absurd.  All they really want to do is take more of your money and hope you believe the sky is falling.

I love the Green New Deal and all the people who are working hard to birth it and manifest it.

They are working towards the kind of world I aspire to live in.

They give me new hope and renew my will to live.

Blessed be they all.

Regarding the Green New Deal….these are the points that I agree with:

Replace partisan oversight of elections with non-partisan election commissions

Revoke corporate personhood by amending the Constitution to assert that corporations are not people and money is not speech.

Re-instate Glass-Steigall to separate out deposit banking from speculative banking.

Attacking corporate corruption of election with election reform that makes campaign funding public and equal.

Resume anti-trust laws and do away the too big to fail institutions.

But even if commissioned to be, is anyone really capable of being truly non-partisan?

Do you really believe they didn’t read it?

I’m pretty sure they have.

They’re making total fools of themselves.

Clearly they are, in your eyes, JoFrance.

They aren’t, in mine. Perhaps some of us see potential and goodness where you do not.

I respect your right to your point of view and feel no need to call you names. I am not a fool and your calling me one reflects on you, not on me.

I am not “stupid and having the wool pulled over my eyes by those evil socialists”, despite your thinking so.

Perhaps my horizons are simply broader than yours.

I have my point of view and you have yours. I respect that.  That’s what makes for an interesting discussion.

I think you’re taking my post personally, and it wasn’t meant that way.  I was talking about our elected Dem representatives.  I’m all for good ideas, but IMO, I don’t see them in the GND.  They’re way short on facts.  I’m sure they’re smitten by the the popularity of AOC, but really, her ideas are not doable right now.

Carry on with your “interesting discussion” and your condescension (“I’m sure they are smitten by the popularity of…”).

Ciao!

It reads that those who don’t want to work will be supplemented. This deserves more thought.

I’m not saying this to be on a side and receive likes but simply pointing out that this deal needs some more review is all.

The GND is a retread of Jill Stein’s 2016 offering. AOC is another Soros puppet.

The Dems are trotting out and parading all their crazy extremists around now to confuse, scare, and numb their base in order to shepherd them safely towards a typical globalist establishment candidate like Biden later, just as they tried to use Bernie in 2016.

I never even looked at Jill Stein’s offering in 2016, to be honest, but AOC has become so popular so fast.  Its suspicious and as a junior legislator who has never done a thing, I don’t understand why she is driving the agenda of the Dem party.

Maybe she is a Soros puppet or a voice for Tom Steyer, but her ideas aren’t based on reality.  We need air travel.  Who wants to give that up?  The best chance for the Dems is to run Biden, but he has a whole lot of pictures touching kids and them not liking it.

They never liked Bernie because he was an Independent and wouldn’t tow the party line.
