Actually, if your assets are in your and your husband’s name jointly, there would be no probate for those. Here in FL, you can also designate a separate beneficiary on bank accts, etc. to prevent probate — not sure about other states — so probate would only apply to miscellaneous items not jointly owned or covered by these measures. There is also here in FL the “Ladybird Deed” to prevent probate on property with a designated beneficiary if owned by one individual. We all need Living Will, Advance Directives, person designated to carry them out. I’m sure your attorney has advised you on all this.
We should all get it done — I write this looking at the envelope still waiting to be returned to my atty!

That’s a good point Tam. Laying your neck back on the sink while they wash your hair probably won’t help. They should be able to make it more comfortable or do it a little differently.
I’m sorry to hear about your neck problem, Elsa. I hope that the neurosurgeon can help you but if he can’t, keep looking for another doctor that might have a different approach to your problem.
Never give up. Its amazing what can be done medically today.

I’m sorry, Vajra – and everyone.
It seems this is an overly sensitive matter to me, this last week or so, due to current events close to me, in real life. Someone didn’t die (but could have). It would have been “untimely”, but one person would have been saying otherwise – lying.
Not an excuse, just to explain a bit, part of why I was so triggered, and overboard in my reaction.

I agree with you and don’t doubt the injury you sustained to your vertebrae was recorded and remembered at a cellular level. Generally we all go through the bone remodeling process of building and breaking down bone every minute of every day. When the process becomes skewed and the balance disrupted, the bone matrix is affected, causing over or underdevelopment as the case may be. You end up with bad bones that may become fused, deformed, weakened, fractured etc.
It’s anxiety producing for sure, but hoping and praying you don’t become “paralyzed” in any way.

Thanks, everyone. I am not really reacting to this. It’s not a change, really. I am just finding out what was already true. And I have no aspiration to live long.
That’s not the same as being suicidal! I’m just satisfied with whatever I get.
I will follow through on this though. I’m trying to do this and have been trying to have my neck looked at for almost two years! 🙂
