Studying my birth chart - hit a snag on the ruler of my ascending sign
Alright, so I've been studying astrology using Forrest's "The Inner Sky."
I'm at the point where I am studying my chart using his suggested guidelines. I started by looking at the sun sign, moon sign, and ascending sign. Interpreted that. Then I looked at the hemispheres and meridians. Interpreted that.
Now I am looking at the focalizers. Forrest says, there is at least one focalizer in every birth chart, and that is the ruling planet of the rising sign. Easy enough.
My rising is Leo. Which means the ruling planet is the sun.
So I am trying to determine how this focalizes. I am getting tripped up because a primary function of the sun is development of ego, self-image. In the same vein, the rising sign is also like, an identical thing right? It's suggestion is the most effective self-image one could put out, right?
I'm reading the book, and Forrest says, "emphasize that the functions you have just described [meaning, of the ruling planet] are intimately bound up in the formation of the person's self-image."
So..... my self-image, or the development of my self-image, is bound up in the formation of my self-image? This is all happening in the 10th house.
I'm having trouble connecting the two because they just seem to be so identical. Do they sort of just intensify each other?
Can someone help me out here, please? Lol
Your sun represents your vital life energy. Your creative self and vocation.
Your rising sign is your first handshake. How you present.
So in this case, your creative life force, enters the room.
To better understand, think of a Cap rising - authority enters the room.
