What is "power" in your mind?
To me, power is knowing and accepting all facets of who you are - especially the shadow side. Knowing exactly who I am keeps me steady, whole and strong.
I can't stand people who abuse their 'power' and subject others to humiliation, pain, cruelty etc. That, to me, is the very definition of weakness.
Yesterday while talking to a friend about our traumatized past, I've realized that although she suffered very much, she didn't shut the door to her heart. I did the opposite. I think there is power in vulnerability, in being vulnerable, in keeping your core open, in genuineness...
I'd say power is having enough self-esteem to not let yourself get overpowered by other people and situations. (Outside of natural disasters - no power over that, except fleeing on time.)
...knowing what I (actually and rightfully) have control over and what I don’t have control over and operating accordingly.
To me Power is being in control of ones emotions. Today I can hardly breathe. Having severe Panic attacks as if I’m being chased by a Leopard. I know I have to hold on. But my heart is heavy . Im praying to God for comfort.
