ORCUS - the lesser Pluto

Orcus was only discovered in 2004. With the same orbit period, and similar size to Pluto.. this planetoid was quickly given it's name as one of the three titles for the god of the underworld. But, Orcus has an opposing angle of eliptic, creating an intriguing dance with Pluto. They both also cross the orbit of Neptune when on the higher side of their eliptical orbits. Each with one moon that orbits in perfect synchronisity with the planets day.. faces tied ikn reflection for eternity.

It is thought that Orcus is similar to Pluto in that he also represents a part of one's inner core. He also may represent one's inner fight for survival.. or in other words, the ethical battle within oneself.

For this reason I can't help but associate Orcus with death.. and perhaps, if Pluto is death in purposeful "cycle of life" sense, then Orcus is a more final death at the end of a valiant fight.

Pluto may have been the god of the underworld, but Orcus is the one who collected the dead to be brought there.. a duty of lesser valor, but no less significant.

Where is Orcus in your chart? Can you draw any parallels to Pluto?

Orcus retro on Sirius, in Cancer. It opposes my Capricorn stellium, which in practice makes it the apex of a Kite, together with my Grand Earth Trines. The sextiles to Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter are all retro aspects. How to interpret that? I'm relatively immortal, till my actual time comes, or at least extremely tough to kill. If I start slacking with my ethics, stray from the ideals of Sirius and Cancer, the retrogrades won't help me. Dziban is actually closer to my Orcus than Sirius, but Sirius is the more powerful of these. I'll add the descriptions of each below. You decide how well I represent them, or at least how well my Mercury delivers the message.

Dziban: Artistic, emotional but sombre; penetrating, analytical mind, much travel, many friends; danger of robbery and accidental poisoning. Craft, ingenuity, valour. A binary star in Draco, the Dragon.

Sirius: Ambition, pride, emotionality, fame, leadership, wealth, fires, drought, danger through impetuosity. Sirius was worshipped in many cultures; its heliacal rising signalled the peak of summer, the annual flooding of the Nile and the beginning of the ancient Egyptian calendar.

I have Orcus in Leo, all by himself. Don't know what it means to me - I have little to no Leo energy in my personality.
