I consider myself to be big enthusiastic person when it comes to music. I can’t live without it. Plain and simple.

I was wondering if you can tell what kind of music people like when looking into their natal chart placements.

I’m not sure where to look at but i will give it a try.

I was born with Moon in Pisces. I do love electronic music that has depth to it. To be dreamy and melodic as two most important elements. When i listen to music it needs to be colorful and detailed. If these two things are delivered in track then my imagination can run high and i get lost in a moment. Almost like a daydream. Imagining various pictures in my head, feeling the vibe and sometimes i can tell which color is some melody. I know it sounds crazy, i know!

Music sounds so much better at night, at least for me.

Electronic music genre is so wide spread that it is impossible to not find something you like.

However for my taste it needs to be groovy and exciting (maybe because i have Venus in Leo). I like to dance to music as well. Oh my i get shivers all over my back!

I think this topic is also fitting because of summer time!

I’m curious to see what you ladies and gentlemen have to say about this one!

Interesting question.

What about Neptune’s sign, house and aspects? Maybe Neptune in 11th or Neptune-Uranus aspected might also like electronic music.

I would say my Moon is well aspected. Four sextiles (NN, Asc, Neptune and Uranus).

2nd house Moon. Trine with Pluto (10th house Scorpio) and one Opposition with Mercury (8th house Virgo).

Neptune aspects: Square with Mars, Conjuction with NN and Asc, Trine with Mercury and Sextile with Moon. I am also Capricorn rising.

I used to listen more aggressive music as well when i was younger. But still electronic. And how i get older i change my taste as well.

I think placements of personal planets in Pisces and strong Neptune or and Venus aspects/themes point to a love of music (amongst other creative and artistic things.)

Chopin and Pisces, I think they go together. Instinct says this, not logic.

When I was an adolescent I liked some heavy metal (and classical music – which I still love – and rock and pop.)

Jazz I loved in my early 30s. Then just dropped it.

Now it’s either classical music or pop and rock music from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Cannot listen to true heavy metal now despite having tried – my nervous system can’t take it. Got lots of Neptune energy – I think it’s related.

Can’t contribute to more on the topic – the theme of deepening music and astrology links escapes me.

I do agree with you about not being able to live without music. Said it as a teen and stand by it now.

Do need to dance more. You sound super into it, Merc91 🙂

Summer and music – yey.

Yea i like to dance in my room. Sometimes in front of mirror 😀 then laugh at myself!

I was into alternative rock when i was younger but since age of 15-16 and to this day i prefer electronic. As i’m near my 30 i do listen all kind of music besides it- from pop to balads, commercial music in general but my soul likes electro the most!

Love music, can’t live without it. I think my signs speak for themselves; aquariuslibrapisces.

I have broad taste, I kinda go through stages. My favourite electronic group is Goldfrapp; love this duo!. I also use to listen to Ladytron. I loved their album title, Witching Hour.

ATM, I can’t get enough of Norah Jone’s new album. I find the piano so soothing. I also love the song lyrics. One song is about twin flames which is very catchy.

My love of music has been lifelong. My friends and family can always hear my loud music when I pull up into their driveway. I’ll be doing this till the end, right up to 💯 😎

I have Neptune conjunct Uranus natally but I don’t care for electronic music. I also don’t have a strong Neptune or Pisces signature in my chart nor do I have any Neptune/Venus aspects but I love music. Just Sun conjunct Neptune. My Neptune is in Capricorn in the 3rd house.

My Moon is in Aquarius and I love punk, grunge, hair metal, and hard rock. My Moon is also conjunct my natal Venus so I think that would give me my love of music of the genres I listen to on a daily basis.

I have that conjunction in the 3rd house, which has Capricorn on that cusp for me.

Music can speak to my soul because I also have the Moon there as well but it’s usually the genres that I mentioned that I mainly listen to that I guess talk to my emotions.

After more than a decade of also being a big music enthusiast, particularly anything melodic or “beautiful”, I realized the way I approached music had ruined my life and deepened my depression to the point that I don’t know if I’ll ever recover.

I always could tell music made me sad but I never dared question it because “music is good”, “music is art” or “music can actually help depression”. I could not see how my relationship with music could actually be harmful, but it was. Same thing with meditation.

A month ago I finally made the decision to delete all my music collection that I’ve been building for a decade. My depression is still there (with or without the meds) but at least I no longer have one of the biggest triggers which would send me from a high-functional depression to a paralyzing and suicidal state.

I still don’t understand how people claim a certain artist’s music “saved their life”. Before I knew better, I might have been tempted to say the same thing, not knowing the difference between a maladaptive coping mechanism and actual improvement. Now, I wonder how many of the people who say that stuff were actually in the same situation as me.

(Moon in the 12th and Neptune square Venus)

Sorry for being a buzzkill and I’m not saying that this is anything other than my own unusual experience, but I hope others can find this and know that they’re not crazy for wanting to forgo music.

Thanks for sharing this. Unusual story for sure! Music creates nostalgic feelings. When you go through some period and listen to music, later that sound/track/song will relive an experience and time you went through. There is two sides definitely.

However i always keep my collection fresh for this reason. Sure i do listen to same tracks over and over again sometimes even from long time ago. I delete tracks and songs that remind me of sad/bad periods for exact reason you mention even though they’re nice tracks. Always looking to make new memories in a sense.

You can get fed of music but more often than not it gives me strength, sense of freedom and something to occupie my mind when i think too much, even if that is placebo effect sometimes.

When you go through down periods you have to find something positive to keep you out of rabbit hole sort to speak. In my case music was a painkiller whole my life, from very early age. It is a friend that never betrayed me when i needed him the most. It has always been there for me.

I’m one of those very lucky people who gets almost literally high on music. As a toddler I had a tiny portable 45 rpm record player and access to the eclectic collections of my parents and much older siblings – all music fanatics. I would spend hours playing vinyl singles and singing tunelessly along (alas, I can’t sing to save my life). My husband and I both seem to have inherited the ability to hear music perfectly in our heads, so when we’re not playing tracks from our vast collection at home, we each have our own internal jukebox, no coins required. If I’m down, I have tracks which will lift my mood, if I’m tired, music to invigorate, if I want to go into trance, need some healing or just want to cook a big pot of gumbo, there’s a tune for that too. Metal, classical, world music, ancient chant, jazz, blues, folk, rock – as long as it has passion, that the artist sounds like the really mean it – my spirit will follow. I don’t play music 24/7 – sometimes I just like the sound of absolute silence, but I can’t imagine life without music.

As Moon put so beautifully:

‘In my case music was a painkiller whole my life, from very early age. It is a friend that never betrayed me when i needed him the most. It has always been there for me’.
