Sometimes you hear something smart, on the stupidest show.

"Memento mori," the character said. "It means, remember you're going to die. The Roman slaves used to say it. Remember it. Remember you're going to die, or you'll live your life like a dumb animal."

This, brought to you by my 8th house.

What feelings does this evoke in you?

Having strong Pluto myself, death is never far from my thoughts. Life is very fragile and one wrong move can do a number on you. There have been a lot of deaths this year that show that I am getting older and people that I grew up watching are dying. Gene Wilder died today and he was a crush that I had many years ago. We are all dying day by day, but it is what we do before it happens that counts.

It reminds me of all the people my age that are dead. One woman, a distant cousin even had my name.

Yes it sounds smart, and poetic.  I'm going to try to remember it for future use, along with 'but you will probably live to be a very old man, or woman as the case may be.

There were four deaths this week, locally. Just, bam, bam, bam and bam. I told my husband, I was pretty much waiting for another death notice all day long; surprised when it didn't come.

@woodenbowl yes, but so can many other things.  And I don't hear about deaths under a full moon. I hear a lot about an increase in howling at the moon, drunkeness, fights, emergency room visits so it's more about drama in my mind.

I get it now. Moon is motherly and female and nurturing. So that makes sense.

I am very 8th house heavy/Plutonic and I remember when I first saw these words, I was visiting my grandma in Buffalo and I was taken in by the way they read,, and figured linguistic wise, it probably had something to do with dying or the dead with the Mor part. I asked my uncle who was a priest and taught Latin and he explained it, he was a Gemini Cap moon, we were close, neither of us from the time or planet where we woke up in exile not sure if this was long dreaming....

"Childhood is over the moment you know that you are going to die." I disagree strongly. I don't remember a time when I was unable to swim, when I was unaware of sex (though I do recall thinking it was a gross mutual concession to make only if you wanna get a kid, and pragmatic of God to put it where pee goes rather than make a THIRD organ by your fanny and privates) sex and death, no not Scorpio at all. Thanks, Elsa. ?
