I am petrified of cats and if you google as to why the answer you get is it is because you are scared of women . Is anyone else also this scared of cats ? I mean i can not even google it because pictures of cats  would come up ! I do have hard aspects to my moon . Can these two things really be related ?

I kind of doubt it, but al-Biruni says cats are ruled by Saturn (or at least black cats), so if you've got Saturn square moon (or sun?) then maybe.

Fear of cats is called Ailurophobia: The phobia manifests itself in different ways. For most people it is less about fear than about loathing, similar to the reaction many people have to snakes or rats. Some people experience it almost all the time, others just in response to direct stimuli. Some possible situations that can trigger the loathing of cats are: hearing purring, seeing a cat in real life, imagining the possibility of a cat touching or rubbing against one, the thought of meeting a cat in the dark, seeing the staring eyes of a cat (cats have the tendency to stare at passers-by) cats in pictures and on television, and cat-like toys and cat-like fur. Big cats such as lions or tigers can also trigger the stimuli associated with a phobia.

No. I had a friend who was completely creeped out by cats, who was an excellent friend to her women friends (close friends, and acquaintances - any) & to women in her family: cousins, aunts, everyone. She was sure of herself in her feminity. An affectionate, understanding mother.

The language of symbols speaks to me, strongly. But even better, I've come across many people much more fluent than me, through books, and in person. Please believe me (and Jung) that you have a stronger innate sense of how symbolic language speaks to you, personally. And (this is my opinion) equating cats = women (always) is just plain stupid. Please, you posted the question because something about you struck you as off key, right? I suspect, yes.

You wrote in another topic that humans in your life have given you reasons to need to be wary of unpredictable betrayals (my words, not yours). That has nothing to do with cats, who, like humans, each have their own personality. Many people don't want any personal relationship with whatever-animal. So what? Good wishes to you, in your cat-empty new year. 🙂

I have never heard or read that, and don't agree at all. Unless they're afraid of the (very) rare woman (and just as rare ) man who has 32 cats (hint - they're either kind hearted people adopting strays  or they're hoarders)

Cats have had negative associations for centuries. Being witches familiars, links to the devil and so forth. Just as snakes have a bad reputation. I grew up in a dog loving house who said that cats were horrible and messy. (why? I do not know. More like the opposite. I had asked for a cat and it was the answer I was given)

You could have internalized some of these negative connotations. Perhaps a cat frightened you once upon a time and that stuck (even as kid, and you didn't remember on a conscious level). Or, the opposite - maybe you've never spent time around cats. Perhaps, they're just not your thing.

Also, cats don't need us except for being fed and let out. Very different than a dog, who desires much more interaction with people.

I find most cats to actually be quite affectionate. They don't jump up, lick you, meet you at the door etc like a dog, but you just have to get used to their language.

I am not a dog person. Parrots are more my thing. I have a sister who's terrified of my bird. It's a smaller one, not a macaw or cockatoo. Friendly as could be, buy my sister expects that every bird out there is plotting to kill us a la Hitchcock's movie. 😛 ( she's 60 and should know better! lol)

No I don't see the connection. I do think some of it is society too. I have a co-worker that is scared of cats because people turn into cats according to him and the country that he comes from. The rest of us at work were not raised with that belief so we think that is crazy.

not really. I don't think the two are connected, except sometimes on a cultural level but not even then. I mean there's the expression "tomcatting around" for a reason.

You know ever since i was a kid i used to think symbols speak to everyone like they do to me , that everyone sees them like messages and trusts them and be so sure of them as if an actual person has given them this information . That everyone can see these patterns and connect the dots but then ofcourse i learnt  most people would dismiss it .

I feel fear comes from hatred and vice versa so i try to see cats with love and kindness and remind myself that god has made cats like he has made me , so this is what i tell myself to get over whatever it is that is bothering me about cats you know to heal it 🙂

I doubt there's a direct link between the two however ...

Being scared of one thing likely means you're going to live your life fearfully and generally be scared of lots of things. So you could easily ask "is there a link between being scared of lawnmowers and being scared of heights" and get a positive answer!!!!!

You might find there's an underlying connection in your own mind about women and cats - as both can exude feminine energy. As I write, my cat is sat on my leg, lovingly purring away. If you're someone who is uncomfortable with such closeness and the feminine, then you might also find women who are particularly emotional, needy or loving to be scary.

No, but I'd say it's something about your personality. Some people just have a natural dislike for certain things. Take me..... you'd have a difficult time getting me to care for birds ((parakeets and similar)) in cages. Can't stand the near-constant chirping..... and the mess on bottom of cages. But I have no problem scooping out the Litter Box...... go figure.

I have 4-Indoor cats and care for 4+ Outdoor cats ((not certain how many stop by for a snack))..... and my Avatar. Cat hair is found in mysterious / unexpected places in my house.

As a guy, I had to chuckle at your reference of Cats/Women.

Interesting.  I spent some time on this at astro.com and subsequent links.  Bast is 40 minute's departing my Scorpio Mercury/Neptune.  I understand their language.  Cats run to me. I'm a cat magnet!!!  My future girlfriend WILL have cats.

Or, she'll be one...

PS.  Much respect for Glenn and his caring.

lol, smdh... Libra Ubasti conjunct Sun and rising Scorpio Sekhmet conjunct Uranus...  A bastion of an Anubian queen's domain... that's gonna end up in an old guard please come back poem at some point...

Since my daughters' mother found someone who wants a free kitten, the number of cats in my house (9) is still hopefully going to be decremented by one today, regardless of what the asteroids have to say.

This is what is referred to as cognitive behavior therapy, and from my own personal experience it definitely works, but it can take persistence and time, so don't give up on it even if it may not seem to be doing much immediate good 🙂  If you can come to love and be kind to cats, I for one would argue you've made the world a better place, but acceptance is really all that's necessary to get over fear of something, and baby steps tend to work best with CBT.

Who doesn't love a gorgeous pussy...

Cat I mean, pussy cat. Sorry I got confused for a second.

Exposure to cats has a lot to do with it as well. When I was a kid cats made me kind of nervous because I felt they were hard to read when I'd be at a relatives house. I was like, what the fuck is this cat about to do? Why is it so quiet with an intense stare?

But then later on I was with my mom at her friend's house and her cat hopped up on my lap and settled in. I was petrified. My mom's friend was like, my cat hates everybody, he never jumps in anyone's lap. So that's when I became comfortable with cats.

From what I've read, cats like to be close physically to people who aren't going to be a pain in the ass.

lol to be honest, I prefer dogs, birds and rabbits to caring for them than a cat. My husband and son love cats, and my husband more so. lol Maybe it's his Leo placements because he loves them cats. Dogs he is okay with but would not want to care for them. My mother in law is a bird lover, she even joined bird watching clubs, and has bird books all over her book cases. I bought her a bird calendar for Christmas too, some bird candles, cards. ect. lol  but she has cared for cats too, but they are other people's cats (like for a holiday away and she is home and she will care for the owner's cats)

edit but I don't think it has anything to do with being petrified of women. I can care for cats too but I find them wayyy too aloof for my taste. I want closeness and neediness I guess.  (it's funny because my son notices too, and says, mom don't like cats too much. And I go waahhh I do, I just don't want them as a pet.) lol and my husband says he only wants cats around. And if I get dogs, as an example, then I am the only one to care for them cause he won't .lol

And there are people who don't like animals to care for, we know plenty of them. Neighbors, father in law and Gemini step mother in law, don't want any animals around.
