Hot take: I believe Uranus energy can be controlled.

To start, I think it's clear that the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) are within in our grasp as they represent our basic field of operation. Jupiter I believe requires the right attitude and riding the waves of good fortune, which requires wisdom, but it is controllable. Saturn metes out reward and punishment and may throw up external challenges but it's all about "doing the work" and it will acknowledge your work. Then the common sentiment seems to be that the planets beyond Saturn's limits are basically not within our grasp. Neptune and Pluto do fall into this category, I think. You can tune into them, you can do work related to them, but they call all the shots and you have to go along for the ride and make the best of it.

I do not think Uranus falls into this category and here's why: Uranus is visible to the naked eye under certain circumstances (if the timing is right, if the night is dark enough....) If we believe in the fundamental astrological concept "as above, so below," I think this means something.

We just have to figure out how to put ourselves in those circumstances that allow Uranian change. This is the heart of the metaphysical task.

So the next time you worry about Uranian energy bringing uncontrollable change into your life, dig deeper. Where the Saturn grind fails, thinking outside of the box succeeds.

Uranian energy really does work where the Saturn grind is failing. I am pretty sure it comes from it's authenticity and commitment to your own unique core values. There comes a time to be brave and honor your individuality. The status-quo just has to go at some point. Sometimes Saturn acts as a lemming.

Being a follower is not always such a great thing. In fact it can be quite dangerous in some situations.

I think I read somewhere reg Uranian transits...either you can work with it, or resist it, inviting external unpredictable changes, and then go out kicking and screaming. ? Made me smile.

Another perspective is that Uranian changes are less of a surprise than we think. Most of the times, they are changes that have been long overdue. We have been mulling on them, consciously or subconsciously. They just get implemented seemingly suddenly. But in the vast space of time, 'suddenly' has been happening since forever.

Great post, Space Cadet! Loved your take!

I like the thought of controlling Uranus energy but you just can't. You can work with it and direct in a productive way but never control it, because Uranus simply does not like to be controlled.

I don't think you can "control" Uranus, but what you can do is anticipate it through inner work and let it flow i.e. go along with its flow - the progressive chart is a good tool that points to our inner mechanisms. Because external events are typically a manifestation of inner workings.

For example, when we fear (Saturn) taking risks (Jupiter) in transforming (Pluto) and instead we choose to remain in a state of delusion or in denial (Neptune). Uranus will force matters very quickly ...

Deep, in that hidden place (Moon) you always know, even if we're not being truly honest with ourselves! So, Uranus becomes an obliging catalyst.

Let me explain it a bit differently. Let's say that you have an upcoming Uranus transit. You don't know what's going to happen, sure. But, I think you can get the result you want and you have some choice in the matter. There is a way to "work" with Uranus, so to speak, without having to surrender like you would with Neptune or Pluto. And it is that outside of the box kind of work. You may not be able to control exactly HOW the result shows up. But Uranus is associated with the 11th house- that is the house of "results," hopes and wishes. Uranus also shares a sign, Aquarius, with Saturn, so I think it secretly has some Saturn qualities and wants you to work for it. I also see it as a liaison of sorts, between the material and spiritual realms.

The point is, I think Uranus is a planet that will take requests, if you know how to send one! I have yet to test this out extensively, but I'm sticking to the theory for now, even if it's crazy. That will be my Uranian contribution. 😛

@space-cadet ... I'm absolutely loving this out of the box thinking, especially...

@osiris-wife And I am loving the comparisons with Saturn and the reasoning for it! That has been my experience as well, but I could not express it as eloquently. Remember my Neptune post? What if we have mischaracterized the outers all this time? Next thing you know, we will find out that Pluto is benevolent. ???

@space-cadet He may take requests but don't count on getting the result you want. It may be something entirely better! "Expect the unexpected", remember?

I've learned that Uranian energy is similar to Mercurian retrograde energy. If you fight it, you get chaos and things don't go the way you want. If you surrender and go with the flow, things turn out better than what you were expecting.

@purplestargirl Absolutely. Uranus is anything but predictable.
