Can someone with a Saturn-Sun opposition ever learn to be confident?

Like “Leo confidence”. Healthy pride… that stuff. I caught myself daydreaming about being more confident and what I could do to achieve that, but then I came down from that cloud and the idea that I will forever be low on self esteem crossed my mind.

What do you think? honestly. Should I just stick to admiring confidence in other people instead of hoping to achieve it someday? So as to not be disappointed.

My specific placements are these. I guess the Saturn-Mercury opposition also plays a part.

Saturn @9 Pisces

Sun @2 Virgo

Chiron @12 Virgo

Mercury @14 Virgo

I think you can....with those placements it’s probably not going to be that puffed up Leo pride that shines on everyone.

I feel like the pride you seek, the feeling of pride that might feel more natural, would be through deeper introspection. You can assess your skills and talents and hard work and KNOW deep down that you have these and they are valued. It’s more difficult with Saturn but it can be done. Saturn can keep you very humble, which is good, but you can also learn to be ok with say, I am talented in [insert skill], When the chips are down and everyone is flailing about, I can work hard (Saturn) and others can depend on me (Virgo).

Sometimes all the work behind the scenes and all the little things that need to be done are the foundations for the big things to happen. You can’t have a palace without a throng foundation.

Hope that helps some. I have a first house stellium in Virgo and Saturn on my DC.

Oh, I want to add that Saturn on the DC can make you feel like nobody likes you and everything you do is stupid. After my Saturn return I learned a little more about how to discern between feeling like everyone was looking at me and everyone is really just more worried about themselves. It’s a constant self-checking thing but you can learn to use it for your own good so it won’t drive you nuts.

Yes you can, though overcompensating to gain it is the wrong way, i used to when i was younger due to Jupiter conjunct my Sun but thankfully in it's exaltation which means wisdom and learning through experiences.

My Sun & Jupiter in Cancer are also 12th house both conjunct Chiron.

Hi Macateta,

I have my 2nd house Leo Sun opposed my 8th house Aqua Saturn.

I have learned in my life ( I turn 55 this summer) that my Saturn
placement usually wins out. I have taken an attitude of letting go.

If I feel my confidence lacking, I try to give myself my own pep
talks. I take action in my own life to obtain what I can and to not
allow myself to become frustrated over what I cannot obtain. Some
times that which I cannot obtain is how others regard or treat me.

The strangest thing that seemed to help me the most is when I learned
about Astrocartography and learned about planetary influences where
I lived. I ended up moving to my Venus Ascendant line 11 years ago.
I chose the location because I had read that a Venus line on your
personal astrographic map tends to bring easier treatment by others.
Well, it worked like a charm for me. I am still very much struggling
with my self esteem issues, but the Venus influence just makes it
easier. I then cultivate self love, and that seems to help me. I also
find that when I behave selfishly, I tend to be respected more by
others than if I go into doormat mode.

My advice to you: Saturn opposite Sun is a driver. It can be great
for self examination and self improvement. Try to cultivate a more
self helpful and self sustaining attitude to make yourself feel move
capable. To thine own self be true. Place yourself and your needs
first. If you do not, nobody else will.
