Astrology: What are your hobbies?
As I was discussing with my parents where Cappadocia is, my 9th house Moon couldn't help but smile as I was looking at the map after a long time. My Moon/Pluto/MC conjunction in Scorpio led me to study philology (my Ph. D. focuses on death and the underworld as means of satire), my 5th house Jupiter in Gemini misses traveling abroad and my Moon trine 6th house Mercury in Cancer loves languages: my native language is Greek, I speak English and French fluently, and know a bit of German, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Swahili. I'm looking forward to learning Hebrew and Yiddish, but their writing will definitely be a challenge!
What are your hobbies? What are the astrological influences behind them?
What planets or houses do we look at? 5th?
I enjoy foreign travel, experiencing differing cultures, even just reading about traveling. I got Mars in 9th. and South Node in Sagittarius.
I also like learning - doing short courses, evening classes... I enjoy communicating..forums, talking to people around me and online... North node In Gemini. 5th house cusp is Gemini.
I looooove foreign languages & cultures, travelling too - Jupiter in Sadge inside the 3rd house, Gemini NN in the 9th house.
I'm very attracted to arts & humanities and worked for a few years in the arts industry - Leo Venus, Aquarius 5th cusp would be the aspects. Plus my Libra rising.
As more hobbies: astrology, philosophy, yoga, buddhism, shamanism, psychology, energy healing... Uranus in the 3rd house, 12 house Sun, Pluto 1st - no idea what exactly, but probably a mix... 😊
Gardening, odd puzzles and secrets.
I think you can also look at Venus to show your hobbies. Mine is in Scorpio in the 8th and I like learning about astrology and the occult.
I used to love jigsaw puzzles, reading books, going through issues of Victoria magazine (they used to have soft-focus pictures of English gardens and tea settings and stuff, very Venus-y).
My Venus is in Virgo, 9th house. Anything that requires me to use my brain and LEARN about new things--oh my gosh. Jigsaw puzzles also involve problem-solving. Virgos love that shit. So does this Libra. You have to be able to sort things and recognize patterns. I used to work Sudoku puzzles, play checkers, work crosswords, do embroidery.
Recently I sort of learned my way around an online DJ Mixer, but now SoundCloud has restricted use of the site's playlist. The guy who runs the mixer was living in his car and barely charging us to use his site. Now B!g Tech wants to control his site too. GRR! I can't add to my playlist and no longer visit the site.
Nowadays I'm researching my family lineage. I find it a lot more engaging when it gets colorful or a really cool piece of info comes up. I found out last night that my three-times great-grandfather and one of his sons planted the fabulous oak trees that line Government Street in Mobile, Alabama. THAT stuff gets me excited.
