@vesta you really got me curious about Vesta.

Here are my thoughts ….

Vesta is Pluto’s sister, so I think that’s where in astrology she might get the link to sexuality in varying form; ranging from sacred sex, to celibacy to promiscuity when she rebels to sacred sex, once she’s allowed to marry. Also, I think her virginal status has more in common with Virgo characteristics of perfection. Either way, Vesta has much in common with Scorpio and Virgo, and less with Aries because I think security is a biggie for Vesta.

The myth also point to our sacred calling; that which is most scared to us. This comes from the Roman Vestal Virgins that undertook a 30-year vow of chastity to tend sacred rituals, like keeping the eternal fire lit in the temple.

30-year sacred vow sounds like Saturn’s cycle, and of course we know that Saturn was Vesta’s father!

Given that Saturn is currently at home in Capricorn after a ~30-year journey around the zodiac, perhaps there is something sacred about where we are today or a calling?!

Maybe this is something for all of us to think about …

Also, just as Saturn prepares to leave Capricorn not to be seen again till 2047, from 10/23/2020 to 7/18/2021 we get Vesta in Virgo….

our devotion to healing or something sacred begins?!

@osiris-wife

Spot on! She is also known as Hestia, and is the patron goddess of bakers (connection with tending to hearth).

Vesta is devotion, alright. But more than that, I think, its commitment to a cause, person, situation or idea. I am surprised nobody thought making her into a wifely ideal.

I think Vesta sexuality is clean ( such a Virgo word)  and single minded in focus (does it come from its Pluto association or Saturnish mulishness?) I think people with prominent Vesta are prone to be monogamic by nature. Contacts to Vesta in synastry also lead to devoted, spouse-for-life type of behaviour.

Interestingly, she is Apollo's sister in Greek mythology. Sister of Sun God, daughter of Cronus (Saturn). She is practically royalty, but I like her interpretation of it to mean devotion to the cause of common people.

As you can see, I like her a lot. Smile

I have Vesta in Aquarius tightly conjunct my IC and right on my north node in the 4th house.

I guess I'm devoted to family and home. And my destiny has to do with that devotion.

@purplestargirl I have Vesta conj Nnode too, but in opposite house situation to yours...in 10th in Gemini. I need to be committed to the idea of writing fiction professionally.

@vesta I did read somewhere that having Vesta conjunct one's North Node pointed to a very specific life path.

My life path must have do with having my own family but I don't know how to achieve that.

@purplestargirl When the time is right, you will live your path. Usually, if we haven't passed the specific grade at school of bard knocks, the Nnode path seems scary to us and we run away from it. Ask me, I live with someone with Nnode in Cancer in bloody 5th house, refusing to have kids.

@vesta I have it in the 4th house. I did read that women with 4th house north nodes are destined to become mothers.

I find that odd because children are a 5th house issue. I have that in Pisces. 4th house and north node are in Aquarius. 5th house is also empty.

Vesta at 10* Leo is going to square Uranus Rx at 10* on 9/3-4

Around the same time of the Full Moon at 10* Pisces.

I'm curious how Vesta manifests, and whether I can discern her from the Full Moon and everything else that is going on..

Vesta in Leo sounds a bit unnatural position to me, unless we talk about procession of equinoxes and how Regulus is now in Virgo. I read somewhere that it correlates to the popular culture trend of nerds winning the world, owning their expertise and hard work and being proud of who they are. Smile

@vesta what about from the perspective that Leo at heart wants to create? In Vesta, could that be creating devotion or the heart of devotion or creating the sacred fire within?

Kind of what I imagine Vesta-Venus would personify is some way....Uranus is currently Venus ruled.

Maybe loyalty (Leo) and devotion (Vesta) might be more complementary commons than we realize.

@osiris-wife Wow! I love that....sacred fire IS very Leonine! I love how you connected the dots.

In fact, I do think Vesta is more complementary to Venus in any sign, than say, BML or Pallas Athena, or even traditional attraction goddress like Aphrodite. There is nothing more comfortable than staring into a fire, safe in your home, on a cold winter's night.
