Would having too many planets in one’s third house manifest as anxiety? I have six residing there (Sun, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury, Venus, and Moon) and I suffer from anxiety disorders. If yes, would we be more susceptible to the influence of Mercury Retrograde periods? I only wonder about that because of the heavy Gemini influence in that case.

You don’t mention the sign the planets are in but there is definitely heavy emphasis on mental processes.

Sun, Neptune, Saturn, and Mercury are in Capricorn. Capricorn rules my 3rd house.

Venus and Moon are in Aquarius.

With Capricorn on the cusp of the third house, that house is ruled by planet Saturn.

The Signs are ruled by planets but signs don’t rule houses, planets do. Planet Saturn rules the sign of Capricorn and is the planetary ruler of your third house.

Did you notice if you had worse anxiety this past Wednesday the 13th? Try marking a calendar for the days that the Moon is in Gemini and see if you have worse anxiety on those days.

The Moon was in Gemini on the 13th and my anxiety was through the roof, I was literally sitting at my desk shaking. I don’t know if it is Neptune in Pisces making it worse or Jupiter in Sagittarius because I don’t normally feel that bad.  I have 5 Mercury ruled planets.

Interesting comment on the 13th. That was the day my husband had vehicle problems which I posted about on the Mercury retrograde in Pisces thread. His third house cusp is Sagittarius and houses his Sun, Mercury, and Chiron. I don’t know his anxiety level, but he called me several times. We were trying to find help since he was stranded several hours away. He’s fine now.

I can’t imagine how frustrating and stressful that must have been!

I just thought that if it was the third house causing the anxiety problems that it would be worse when the Moon was in Gemini. It could be the amount of screentime or lack of being outside enough.

I was a bit on edge Wednesday. I’ll have to make more of when the moon is in Gemini to see if there’s a correlation.

I think so, especially if they receive squares/oppositions from outer planets. Same for planets in Virgo/Gemini which receive stress aspects from outer planets.

I have this as well, struggle with anxiety a lot. I have periods where it’s calmer and periods when these planets get triggered like in transit and it gets out of control. With time I have better tools to handle it, meditation helps, spiritual practices help too in having faith and trusting things to work out.

Venus rules pleasure and relaxation, maybe doing Venusian things can help you wind down? Studying your Jupiter placement can also help give you tools, as it’s about optimism, faith, and big picture thinking.

By making a chart from clues you gave you have a 5 planet stellium in Capricorn. Your anxious nature may have developed due to your Sun being flanked on either side by scout Uranus and illusory Neptune, the rolling nature of this stellium may have ingrained some repeating patterns of instability (uranus) turning into an illision ( neptune) of sorts which then becomes structure (saturn). All transits ride over this stellium, which finishes with Mercury, ability to think. Natal Mercury is retrograde, the phase of the Mercury cycle when you were born. Transit Mercury now sextiles your natal Mercury, good for communicating.

Saturn rules Uranus which rules Moon, which rules Jupiter, which rules Mars, this 5 planet dispositor energy string is connected by linear rulership. Exalted Jupiter and Uranus the scout are in opposition. Uranus the scout begins the stellium. Planets in the third house indicate emphasis on third house matters…siblings, early schooling, immediate environment, neighborhood, etc. With Capricorn on the 3h cusp your 3rd house is ruled by Saturn. Saturn can represent the father, Moon the mother. If the clue chart is near correct, its possible Moon squares Pluto which can be quite intense. Capricorn presents as serious, much seriousness can tend to worry and anxiety can occur if life events have presented in such a way to have us think everything will always turn out the same way or follow the same pattern. Pluto in the first house can be intense, make time to breathe. Nine planets below the horizon, things kept to the self, exhalted Jupiter is happy learning and expanding in an afternoon house.

Close. I do have a five planet Capricorn stellium. However my natal Mercury is direct, not retrograde.  Moon and Pluto also don’t make contact either.

I have Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune in the 3 house – Sagittarius. All of them aspect my Mercury in Virgo in the 12 house. I can’t describe how hard it is for me to stop my mind from racing… sleep has been a problem all my life. I can’t sleep well and have many nights of insomnia. I try my best to chill at night, drink sleep infusions, listen to relaxing music… Relaxing is hard, but very important.

I study alternative therapies and ways of relaxing… spas, massage, gemstones & mantras etc. whatever to help me chill out… I feel sports helps me very much. I have a Leo mars, sport really helps me relax… I give me Jupiter short trips and language learning, my Neptune visuals – photography and painting contemplation and my Uranus the study of astrology 🙂 I think planets there need their constant fuel, that’s how I feel my 3 house and that’s how I try to work with it. It’s hard, but I have no other choice…

Aries Sun and Merc in 3rd squaring lots of stuff. When I was younger my mind would keep me awake racing after a crazy day if I wasn’t physically tired.

Those relaxing things never helped at all, but feeding my mind did – – reading something really engaging and enjoyable like detective novels or riveting drama for at least two hours before bedtime. Also reading with an equally intriguing movie playing on DVD or internet in the background

Escape and displace the repeating loop with something more captivating.
