This week feels like a dark, sweet Halloween come early. The Sun moves from Venus-ruled Libra to Pluto-ruled Scorpio. Wednesday’s full moon in Taurus at 1 degree dominates the week. Deep, dark, AND delicious, the Taurus Moon opposes the Sun conjunct retrograde Scorpio Venus.
All week long, Venus makes excellent aspects. Tuesday Venus perfects its sextile to Saturn. Through the week it moves closer into conjunction with the Sun as the Sun sextiles Saturn, exact Friday.
Scorpio Mercury dips into that sweet dark well with great aspects of its own. The week begins with Mercury’s sextile to Pluto on Monday. Monday is the last day of the Sun in Libra. Mercury is also moving toward conjunction with Jupiter and a trine to Chiron.
Mercury in Scorpio here is doing detective work on love, money, desire, and motivation. On relationship. This occurs with the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Aries, not in full moon opposition but in opposition by sign – the primal relational opposition of individual needs to other-oriented focus.
The opportunity arises to understand something primal about your own relationship model. What makes you tick in relationship? Think you know? It’s a fair bet that there a much deeper root to the thing you know. If you go deeper, you can grasp it. This is a big deal. There’s more to know. Don’t stop now.
Then Tuesday, the Sun moves to Scorpio and the Moon moves to Taurus. Venus sextiles Saturn and the full moon opposition aspects them both. Something old (Saturn) and something old and new (retrograde Venus finding a new side to old desire) are tied to this culmination. They’re folded in. So is the Moon conjoining retrograde Uranus.
There is an element of forced or unavoidable acceptance. It’s the feeling that you can no longer avoid understanding the deeper side of what you genuinely desire – and by extension… why you’re getting or not getting it. It’s in your face. It zaps you in the face. If you try to turn away, it whangs you in the back of the head. In a good way. You’re not getting out of this without knowing who/what/when/where/why.
It’s highly uncomfortable! And essentially satisfying even in the discomfort. It’s popping something back into place, something gone wonky. That doesn’t automatically make things right. If you’re off course, you’re still off course. But now you know what the course is, even if you choose to ignore or avoid it.
Oh you can ignore it, but that’s after you’ve seen it. You can’t unsee it, though some will subvert that knowledge and bury it in their mind. That’s okay. Not everyone is ready, and it’s still there to access. Regardless of readiness to understand, now is not the time to act. Now is the time to think and feel and understand one’s orientation toward the goal.
It’s a time to embrace the deep value of oneself and how that impacts the way we value others. The supposed flaws don’t matter. As Jupiter makes its way into trine with Chiron, Mercury brings the understanding that the flaws aren’t mistakes. They’re part of the deeper design. They make progress possible.
Perfection is boring. Progress is stimulated (at first) by discomfort, pain. In between those poles is pleasure. In between those extremes is the whole story. You hear of moderation, of the middle ground. That’s because it falls between boredom and pain. Moderation is not less pleasure. It IS pleasure.
This week is a window into how to balance there, in pleasure, with a little work, that is. It’s the best kind of work, the kind that feels good. But you still have to do it to reap the reward. If it doesn’t feel good, it’s not the right work; it’s fighting to get upstream.
Monday is the Aries Moon, and Mercury sextile Pluto. The Moon aspects the Venus-Saturn sextile. Listen, even if it doesn’t feel very liberating at first.
Tuesday the Sun moves to Scorpio. The Aries Moon sextiles Mars and squares Pluto. If you feel moved to action, that’s a good thing. Do things in preparation and to clear up for the way forward. Move your body just because it feels good. Movement gets the body out of resistance and lets the mind percolate a little longer.
Wednesday the Moon finishes up in Aries and moves to Taurus for the full moon.
Thursday the Taurus Moon continues on into sextile with Neptune, square with Mars, and trine to Pluto. It closes in on opposition to Mercury overnight. Avoid lashing out in tension by opening up the routes of the ideal and creative imagination. Put on music. Dance, stretch. If someone winds you up, remember your own deeper well of power. Contemplate what you ARE here to do.
Friday, the Moon finishes up in Taurus and moves to Gemini. First the Moon opposes Jupiter and sextiles Chiron. Feel the bigger picture and how good it feels to stretch and grow. Or we see it reflected back in others. The Taurus Moon passes over Juno in Scorpio and we feel where we are committed (reminded with Juno retrograde). In Gemini, the Moon takes the point of a yod from Sun-Venus and Saturn. It’s possible to feel energized by the promise of getting on with all the little tasks and interactions that make up the larger work of loving ourselves. Take that with you through the day.
Where does the 1 degree full moon in Taurus hit your chart? Where are Saturn and Venus transiting in relation? Are you getting inklings of understanding?
