Virgo the Virgin is known for their fine mind, and their focus on health and helping. Their work is a priority and they tend to shun the limelight unless their job requires otherwise. Virgos are perfectionists, with a tendency to nitpick.
It’s something I decided from the very beginning I would never do – nudity.
Claudia Schiffer
When I first came to Hollywood I was told to go out with an agent because it was good for my career. So I went to a party with him because it was good for my ‘career.’ Well, he thought the whole thing was a big date. Needless to say, I was very upset.”
Salma Hayek
The mind can also be an erogenous zone.
Raquel Welch
I wouldn’t eat a hamburger for 40,000 dollars.
River Phoenix
The great thing about McDonald’s is that they have a lot of different things on the menu. I love their salads.
Beyonce Knowles
Please add Virgo quotes of your own!
Not quite modern but, Queen Elizabeth I:
‘Better beggar woman and single than Queen and married”
“It would please me best if, at the last, a marble stone shall record that this Queen having lived such and such a time, lived and died a virgin.”
I’m reading some historical fiction right now, so she came to mind.
Beautiful blog Elsa. I’m just putting mine back together after a server mishap (a disaster still picking up the pieces:). Just looking around at some of the other cosmic blogs in the psychic neighborhood. I must say yours is among some of the best… Keep up the good work!
Lucky
“Iwant to be alone”. Greta Garbo (virgo)
Ani DiFranco:
maybe you don’t like your job
maybe you didn’t get enough sleep
well, nobody likes their job
nobody got enough sleep
maybe you just had
the worst day of your life
but, you know, there’s no escape
and there’s no excuse
so just suck up and be nice
——————–
William Carlos Williams (poet AND doctor haha) :
Nanucket
Flowers through the window
lavender and yellow
changed by white curtains-
Smell of cleanliness-
Sunshine of late afternoon-
On the glass tray
a glass pitcher, the tumbler
turned down, by which
a key is lying- And the
immaculate white bed

Stephen King:
When asked, “How do you write?” I invariably answer, “one word at a time.”
—————————
Agatha Cristie:
“The best time to plan a book is while you’re doing the dishes.”
Tolerate each other mistakes is the best way to peace.
2x Ingrid Bergman:
“I was the shyest human ever invented, but I had a lion inside me that wouldn’t shut up!”
“I’ve gone from saint to whore and back to saint again, all in one lifetime.”

A boy I knew once told me he had a tendency to blush. He was so sweet and completely gorgeous too ๐
One of the most interesting ways in which I observed astrology in academia was when I took a 19th philosophy class last semester. We started with careful, deliberate Tauran Kant and moved on the Virgo Hegel.
“If you want to love you must serve, if you want freedom you must die.”
“Only one man ever understood me, and he didn’t understand me.”
It was so funny to go to Marx after that. Such an Aries. “Fuck you!!!”, all his works screamed. So much angry compared to the Taurans and Librans (Nietzsche couldn’t make up his mind to save his life) who preceded and followed him. Anyway, that’s just my high-falutin’ academic observations.
Hugh Grant is another Virgo who I love for his wryness and self-criticalness.
“Basically, my life is so boring, it’s embarrassing.”
“Well, you know I have an office, my film offices. So I know that syndrome. I fancy offices, so there must be something wrong with me. Even the window cleaner intrigues me. It’s a very sexy environment. ”
“I don’t think there’s much point in putting me a deep, dark, heavy, emotional film because there are people who do it so much better than I do.”
River Phoenix wouldn’t eat a hamburger but he sure didn’t mind taking bad drugs! Sheesh. I used to use him as an example for my son when he lived in L.A.
“If your friend is laying on the cement or under the table or in the bathroom and he’s not breathing, what do you do?” “CALL HIM AN AMBULANCE!” “NOW!”
casey31652: Hahahaha that made me snort ๐

More about philosophers: Libra Heidegger’s philosophy is the only one ever to fall right into place for me. His Sun is on my Mercury:)
(The Nazis removed him from the position of rector of the University of Freiburg – one of the reasons being that he wanted rule by philosophers! He had several planets in Libra. Astrotheme has the chart).
LOL Little Miss Hermit, maybe that explains why my Libra-heavy philosopher friends are so into Heidegger. I have great synastry with Jung, everything you would want in a serious relationship. His ideas clicked so well w/me when I was a teen and I was into everything Jung. Now I tend to dislike most Jungian texts save the man’s primary texts.
But back to Virgo… Some quotes from a very atypical Virgo, Fiona Apple:
“I have a very steadfast tendency to parent myself, to monitor my development into the person I want to be. I’ve tried to keep the corruption minimal.”
“I really don’t think anything I do is a mistake. It could be if I didn’t learn from it.”
Aimee Mann, a Virgo, describing the sound of Virgo neuroticism:
But I can’t confront the doubts I have
I can’t admit that maybe the past was bad
And so, for the sake of momentum
I’m condemning the future to death
So it can match the past…
I don’t know if the Fiona Apple quotes are atypical. I’m very much a Virgo and that sounds.. a lot, like me. Even if an experience sucked, if you learn from it… then it was worthwhile.
jilly, ani difranco is a libra. that’s a verrrry libran song right there. love it.
“What you might see as depravity is, to me, just another aspect of the human condition.”– asia argento, actress
โI think all phases of one’s career are serious if you take it seriously no matter if you are doing high profile dramatic pieces or not.โ
โAwards are meaningless to me, and I have nothing but disdain for anyone who actively campaigns to get one.โ
— Bill Murray <3
‘We were born before the wind….’, ‘Well, it’s a marvellous night for a moondance…’, ‘Oh, the water, ohOH the water, OHHHH THE WATER….!!!’, etc, etc – Van Morrison
“He wrote love stories, a thing I have always kept free from, holding the belief that the well-known and popular sentiment is not properly matter for publication, but something to be privately handled by the alienist and the florist.”– O. Henry
“When in doubt…vacuum.”
Virgo moon:)
That was said to me by a wise Pisces woman years ago and it stuck with me:) Its makes an amazing difference though. With my moon in Virgo especially. Although a broom is more kind to the ears.
Apparently what Garbo ACTUALLY said was “I want to be LEFT alone” (i.e. not harassed and hassled): we Virgos are misunderstood!
As a Virgo though I very much like one thing the Virgo novelist DHLawrence said, which was something like:
“A man needs both love and work to be happy. A life of work without love is too hard, but a life of love without work is too soft”.
Perfect!
This is cheating, since it’s not in their own words, but in the movie Beasts of the Southern Wild there’s this:
“Life is a feast and you are the waitress.”
Love it, Beth! I’ve always felt that way!!! Someone’s got to take the orders, efficiently deliver what’s needed and clean up the mess.
Being unpleasant with this level of exhaustion is not an option. So little gets done in the middle of flamboyant acts of dramatic complaint. I clean up the Leo mess.
