Unusual New Moon In Virgo – September 19-20, 2017: Effects By House

September’s new moon takes place at 27 degrees, 27 minutes of Virgo around midnight on September 19th/20th.  Notice that all the personal planets are in Virgo, along with the Sun and the Moon. This is an unusual situation.

A new moon in Virgo, energizes it’s ruling planet, Mercury. In this case, Mercury is conjunct Mars. This adds considerable spark to the scenario.

If you consider Virgo, plain jane, you might think differently by the time this is all said and done.  To give you some ideas…

  • Helper on steroids
  • Verbal attack
  • Hacking (like my site, Equifax, etc.)
  • Attacks in vehicles
  • Road rage
  • Missile launch

It doesn’t sound so innocuous, does it?

So those are possibilities, but most of us will just be trying to live our lives. And Virgo is a do-gooder.  So if you’re wanting to use this energy along those lines, here some ideas for setting your intention for the new moon, based on the house where it falls.

  • New Moon in the 1st house –  Initiate something Virgoan. Present yourself, ready to help.
  • New Moon in the 2nd house – Money details. Clean up your spending, polish your silver (take care of your belongings). Also, de-clutter!
  • New Moon in the 3rd house – All about getting out and around and chatting with a variety of people. Make connections.
  • New Moon in the 4th house –  Clean your house!
  • New Moon in the 5th house –  Help to educate kids with a focus on creativity.
  • New Moon in the 6th house –  Work!  Also begin a diet or exercise routine.
  • New Moon in the 7th house – Beware nitpicking your partner! Try helping them instead.
  • New Moon in the 8th house – Go over your shadow side with a fine tooth comb!
  • New Moon in the 9th house – Communicate with people outside your usual circle. Expand!
  • New Moon  the 10th house – Set an example of efficiency.  Frame your work as a service.
  • New Moon in the 11th house – Get your friends together – “switch and bitch”, anyone?
  • New Moon in the 12th house – Take the dive aka, “If you’re falling, dive…”

Where does the new moon fall in your chart? What’s your intention?

  1. Wow! It almost sounds like a Stellium … again. Just getting over that powerful Stellium in Aries (my rising sign) earlier this year that lasted quite a long time. Virgo sun in the sixth here so yes I am actually planning to renew my gym membership and simply cut out potato chips from my diet – God they are so good!
Thanks for the positive comments on Virgo, we often get such bad press about being boring and fussy especially about cleanliness – so what’s wrong about being clean and smoothing out EVERY wrinkle on the sheets when you make your bed?! Only a fellow Virgoan will understand that😜 Good to have you back Elsa!

I have to laugh. People are so dismissive of Virgos until a Virgo leaves their life and all chaos breaks loose and they find nobody who will be there in their pinch and create order out of their chaos

  2. I’ve enjoyed having Mercury back in Virgo. Very energizing. The new moon falls in my 3rd but the stellium straddles my 2nd house as well. Decluttering I have been. But I’ve been cordoned off from friends during this intense phase of work and it’ll be good to catch up with them.

  3. All but Mars in the 7th house. Unpartnered at this time so my eye might go to contracts or coworkers. Mars on my Natal Pluto (Descendant) can’t be good.

  4. This will be devided between my 9th and 10th houses. Venus will be smack on the cusp at 29 degrees Leo conj. my Moon/Pluto with Mars ahead just by seven degrees. The New Moon itself, will be into my 10th House, about six degrees away from the end of it. I looked up the Sabian Symbols. It looks like a new perspective on my job in combination of all of these, but won’t know how that actually will manifest yet. Kind of exciting I guess. Though, I am dreaming of retirement…lol I am not a Spring Chicken.

  5. The stellium in Virgo interested me. A year ago my nephew died, he was born with a 7th house Virgo stellium (Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Pluto) all opposing his Pisces Saturn and Chiron. You mentioned attacks in vehicles and road rage. Twenty years before his death, at age 27, he was in a single car accident on a deserted country lane and suffered severe spinal cord injury. He was found lying in a stream in a wooded area after being thrown from the vehicle under mysterious circumstances that smack of an other worldly type encounter. He was a wild child growing up, which always struck me odd because of his Virgo Sun and rising and Cancer moon but your post makes sense and is helping me understand. He was cared for over those twenty years by my sister – and she became a care giver on steroids. They slowly fell into a relationship of verbal hacking that was dreadful to experience and changed both of them, and our entire family in many ways.

  6. This New Moon is conjunct my 8H asteroid Ceres and transiting Mars is conjunct my 7H Pallas Athena. After discussing (Mars) and devising a plan (Pallas Athene) with my family doctor (Virgo – health), I have begun taking over-the-counter supplements (Ceres – nutrition) to treat my high cholesterol (8H – blood issue). This New Moon also opposes transiting Chiron in Pisces. Yes, it is finally time for me to address this health issue. Transiting Ceres in Cancer sextiles the Virgo New Moon – great time to begin new health/nutrition programs.

  7. This transit takes place in my 11th house. It’s a relatively empty house exceptfor the North Node in Virgo. I just read the urban dictionary definition of “switch and bitch” and I’m sure that won’t be the case. Any thoughts about this upcoming Virgo new moon & stellium in the 11th house.
