Tips For People Having Neptune Transits

Neptune cuffIn working with clients having Neptune transits, I’m cautious in what I say. People are suggestible under a Neptune transit. It’s important to realize you have free will. Beware an astrologer coming ’round telling you that X and Y and Z was going to happen, as if your life is completely out of your hands.

Under the influence of Neptune, Virgo things like details, and skills like discernment, are important. It’s easy to become “infected” or undermined during Neptune transits. You can compare this to a drop of red paint, added to a white or neutral base. There’s no defense available.

When I consult with people having Neptune transits, I am careful to show them the strings behind the theater so they can fact check if they want. I supply the astrology which helps to clarify things.

This is necessary because I often work with people who have been told something by someone (astrologer or otherwise), that is downright bizarre. Often times the remark has taken the person off track, when the remark is baseless. Occasionally I see someone who has been devastated by a suggestion made at a time when they we’re vulnerable.

You can compare this to having a weakened immune system.  You’ll want to avoid people who confuse of mislead you.

If a person tells you something that makes you feel bad, and leads you to believe that your life is out of your hands, this is a big red flag. I can’t tell you how many clients I’ve had, taken by a “psychic” who had them sending money to fix their bad mojo or some such garbage.

It’s fine to get information via intuition or other ethereal sources, I do it myself all the time. But you want the Virgo component to be included in some form.

Matter of fact, if you are having a Neptune transit, I would recommend you go out of your way to get a Virgo friend who you can tap for logic. Or Capricorn, who can offer you a reality check.

Can you remember a time in your life when you were more suggestible than usual? How did this play?

  1. I have a Capricorn friend on stand-by for just such reality checks. I try not to act without speaking to her first.

  2. Neptune is squaring my Sun and opposing my 10H Virgo Stellium. Good thing my therapist and aunt are Virgos. 😉

    1. I have this transit coming up in a few years when Neptune enters Aries ( opposing my Libra stellium) how did this transit affect you ? I know my experience won’t be exactly the same but some advice would help ?

  3. I am having a Neptune transit right now opp. my Moon, which is in Virgo. How is it playing out? Well I know that it is a good time to maybe practice my intuition more, beef it up so to speak. That might help with my “fact finding”. I also need to use my Saturn in my first house to remedy my wanting to run away from anything messy in my life. To take care of business. Since Neptune is transiting my IC/4th house, and the moon represents home, I am clearing out my room, using more spiritual decor to do more yoga and meditation. I have heard the any harsh aspects can mean homelessness. God forbid this should happen. I can’t see that it would though, as my parents would step in. But it has just started so we shall sea!..lol

    1. UPDATE: Have not recently been taken in by any such characters but in the past yes. I saw through it though once I go going on the mind track…I put on the breaks and said “Wait a minute”. Unfortunately, I did NOT do that with a friendship that seeped in through the cracks and was misled with. I finally did get disengaged though and it freed up a LOT of my energy. Now, since I wrote my reply above, I have had to move twice, sell my deceased parents home, go back to a situation I was offered, with more upheaval to come, weathering lots of changes at work and in life (people I am close to leaving for one reason or another) and wondering where I am going next. I am feeling the energy though of this Capricorn transit and going to use it to tether myself and get my s**t together. I can tell you though Elsa is dead on with the warning. I got kind of addicted to psychic websites when this transit first started happening and and wasted a lot of money. I can say though, that I have NEVER felt I wasted any money getting readings from Elsa and or Midara. They don’t lead you astray. They will hone in and clarify like nobody else I have experienced a reading with. Of course how you take that and use the information is where your free will comes in.

So anyway not homeless, but going to be looking for a home, just not sure WHERE yet. *getting out her binoculors*

      1. Forgot to address: I have Moon in Virgo (same degree as Dolly Parton : ) and you know how pragmatic she is! And I have Venus in Capricorn. I think it has saved me during this transit.

  4. Suggestible. All the time getting detoured down some goofy path because I trusted. Progressed 6th is gemini, so I am looking at mental health. This very thing can make me crazy. The words I hear are often in opposition to what I am seeing and experiencing. I am in process of accepting that this exists after being angry about “being told lies” when it is quite possible that it is not the “liars” intention. It’s not just taking responsibility for my own perceptions, but not allowing others to hurt me. Discernment definitely. And goodness knows, I could be doing the same thing. So by all means, everyone make up your own mind.

Gosh, this piece is clear and gutsy. I like it.

  5. Right now I have Neptune squaring my Mars and inconjunct my Sun. Thank goodness that I do have a fair amount of Cap & Virgo, it definitely helps me stay grounded when I’m tempted to float off. I also think that, on the flip side, my normally security conscience, stodgy, routine oriented self could use a little wandering off of my beaten path. My Neptune square Neptune transit was hard, but at the same time I appreciated that I felt ok with letting things fall apart, being the control freak that I am. It felt freeing. Granted, getting back on my feet & having to forge a new path hasn’t been easy, but I’m thinking it was a necessary step.

Maybe I’m grounded just enough to survive the dissolving effects of Neptune…

  6. Don’t know if it’s this, or your previous post about shocking and mental strain, but I have been chippy as hell for the last 12 hours and my sex drive has gone crazy, much to my wife’s amusement.
Didn’t know those 2 went together!

  7. Was just devising a plan to avoid this very situation. This blog entry validates the plan I came up with. Thanks Elsa.

  8. I think with 4 Virgo planets, including Sun, I’m pretty resistant to being suggestible. That hasn’t always extended to not convincing *myself* of things (like relationships I was convinced would work – I have Venus/Pluto natally sextile Neptune and Jupiter). But I am trying to double-down on the Virgo discrimination as Neptune is in a long-haul transit opposite my Merc+Venus+Pluto at 0-2 degrees Virgo.

Not this Virgo! Neptune is opposite my Sun right now, the fog is so thick I couldn’t find my way out of a paper bag(I have a pretty foggy brain to begin with, this transit even makes it worse). And I’ve got big major life decisions ahead of me that I can’t hold off.

With transiting Pluto on my Moon (& very close to MC), T Uranus square it, and T Saturn on my Desc, things are upside down and all around for me anyway.

  10. my ex-husband’s parting shot was “you’re just too hard to love”. I have been struggling with that for 8.5 years now. it is the hardest thing to root out.

The projection of a person who at least in that moment needed someone else to blame for their inability to love more unconditionally. I can see why that would have been immensely hurtful

  11. I’m finding myself relying on fixed modalities (Taurus, Aqua, Scorpio and Leo). Mainly because all the Cardinals (especially the Capricorns) I know are getting slammed by Pluto and and all the mutables including Virgo are getting drowned by Neptune.
But, then again, I am one of those having a messed up Neptune transit right now. Maybe I should reconsider. I’m definetly prone to suggestibility right now.

  12. This explains quite a bit. I have a Virgo friend who I haven’t talked to in a while. Now’s the time to go drop her a line and reconnect. I could use the grounding.

  13. Since Neptune got to my Asc I’ve been watching for extra delusion. But I think I’m actually clearer about stuff. Or am I kidding myself…

  14. Thanks for this. I’m really looking forward to Neptune getting off my sun! I thought Neptune was just recently retrograde too!

Neptune is opposite ascendant, conjunct mars.

It seriously sucks. I was the person who made the thread about the swindling psychic. Charging me 1400$ to rid me of “curses” which really did nothing.

Its funny how yesterday I just started googling my neptune transits and this blog post pops up. I am taking care to be extra careful of who I trust and trying not to delude myself into anything. Since neptune is also transitting my 7th, I have been disillusioned with relationships and sex in general..

  16. Neptune is squaring my Mercury and Jupiter right now, although it’s not exact yet.

Having a Virgo or Cap therapist would suit me (Cap if their Sun is in the last decanate). Or an Earth sign astrologer. Or both. My needs at this time are for counselors who are honest and forthright, as well as practical.

“…Matter of fact, if you are having a Neptune transit, I would recommend you go out of your way to get a Virgo friend who you can tap for logic….”

Perfect 🙂 I have a 1H Virgo stellium friend, an engineer, who is super critical and all logical and has no qualms about telling me I’m being stupid. It’s a reality check.

@Satori … my ex-husband’s parting shot was “you’re just too hard to love” … NO! You’ve GOT to be fucking kidding. Talk about projection.

  18. Neptune is opposite my Mercury. I don’t know anymore or at least in this transit. Stop the planet, I want off. Dial a Virgo…

  19. DancingBarefoot someone told me that once too a long time ago! I wonder if that retort ever did anything besides make the sender look like a real jerk. I hope not…it is just beyond.

  20. yup neptune at the tail end of 2nd house and i think since i have all outer planets Rx, when they go Rx i can better understand myself..

so now with neptune Rx, i’m finally coming to better terms with my belief in myself and what i’m really worth 😉

  21. Freak….Neptune is in my 5th house ruled by moon.
Firstly I am gloomy makes me even more glued to illusions.

  22. This particular Virgo is having his Sun opposed by Neptune, which also trines his Scorpio Mars and Cancer MC. I’m happy to offer reality checks, just call around 2014..

  23. I have one happy super-Virgo friend. I’ve also got my rock (P), my very fixed KEB, and another very fixed and practical friend. I think I’m good, and I always appreciate the heads up.

    Esp when it’s Neptoon!

  24. This is a great post… Neptooooon issues abound in my chart to begin with, but it has spent the last 7+ years clobbering my Scorpio stellium.

Got very bad advice from people, including, yes, psychic frauds and others (moved cross-country on the advice of one psychic—what a disaster!). I just look back and go, “WHAT was I THINKING????!!!” Still trying to find my way out of the fog, but have stopped making major decisions based on “leaps of faith” alone.

Agreed that one needs a good grounded friend(s) of any kind to help through the fog!

  25. Excellent post, Elsa.

    ((@Satori))

I’ve been through vulnerable times as a Scorpio, when the deep water of uncertainty (Neptune infusing over-loads) wiped me out when those closest to me and my Node opposite (the grounded Taurus)did what you, Elsa said:

“If a person tells you something that makes you feel bad, and leads you to believe that your life is out of your hands, this is a big red flag.” I didn’t get the red flag. One of those people was a life-long friend I had depended upon since I was a girlchild. What I lacked was the discernment and fact-checker switch to see the woman was using her influence and I was letting it happen. Time, Saturn and my seriously Virgo – Cancer mate is that ‘fact-checker’ now. I have plenty of Capricorn, but deep water Scorpians need to learn to let loose with the truth so Virgo can help.

  26. Yes, most of my early life. Bad, bad, bad. I got conned a lot and believed a lot of things people said. Extremely deluded. Having a Virgo-y SO has been healing in many ways. I’m more grounded and not half as deluded as I used to be, yeah! Yay Virgos!

Neptune in the 3rd is soooo much better than having it oppose Mercury.

  27. trying to stop asking my Virgo friends for advice about everything, they tend to over-simplify and/or just make me feel bad in the end.. maybe it’s them being judgmental? (I hadn’t realized 3 of my closest friends are virgos)

  28. @Ella: If you find some with some water mixed it, they are very good to talk to. Not only listen but give good, practical advice that might be hard to hear…but is streaked with compassion for you issue.

  29. neptune is opposing my mars, moon and ascendant. i have been told to leave my home and i cannot find anywhere to live :/ this is just another in a long line of problems ive struggled to deal with.
i really cant be bothered anymore. totally burnt out with stress 🙁

  30. I am having this now and it is literally driving me crazy. I’m so delusional and erratic in my thoughts… I think I need medication. Brain we won’t stfu and having HUGE paranoia and connecting dots that don’t exist. A scary situation for me since I’m so mercurial, losing my mind is my absolute worst fear and I think it might be happening. I guess at least I am aware of it, but does not stop it.:-/

  31. T. Neptune is around 5 degrees from my mercury atm and oddly enough, I am starting to feel it. I noticed I am leaving out detail when I communicate and this bothers me since I worked on this so hard during my saturn return in the 3rd house. I’ve also been wondering if we have free will. I have so much static in my head and confusion. It is like I cannot finish a complete thought without derailing myself. like my thoughts become mist or something. I can’t believe I can already feel this. . . and its just going to become stronger 🙁

Anyone know how to “trick Neptune?” Someone wise told me that’s what I need to do. That soggy, foggy bastard is transiting my poor battered 2nd house, just 2-3 degrees from opposing my Virgo Moon in 8th house. I’ve been in a fog, letting time and money slip away, while avoiding, procrastinating, being duped, wallowing in escapism and indecision. I need to get back to my frugal, Spartan, driven Aries self. I think my Saturn is broken — help!

  33. Hi I am sun/mercury in Pisces in 1st house with Neptune conjunction transit over them , sun rules 7th and mercury rules 4th and 5th house, 3/13/1993 5:10am is Date of birth. I find myself sooooooooooooooooo fogged out lol like Im in fantasy land 24/7 like I can’t function in reality, ugh its very difficult for me, anyone can help?

  34. Virgo Sun here, having a Neptune transit! Get to the bottom of everything, double check, triple check…or just keep walking, having faith that the fog is going to lift eventually and trying not to fall in the river at the same time!

  35. Sun at 10 degrees Pisces and IC at 12 degrees Pisces. I have no words. I’m so lost that I’m not even sure if I’m lost. Rip current has taken me and now I have to swim parallel to the shore to hopefully one day step foot on land, not sure if I will have fins or legs by then.

  36. I’m having a Neptune transit – it’s opposing my Saturn in Virgo. And the transit Saturn is conjunct my natal Neptune. 😀
Luckily, I do have a great friend who is a Capricorn and she keeps me grounded. and lifts my spirits occasionally.

  37. I have Neptune conjunct my pisces moon 11 degrees for awhile now and will for a bit longer also. I seem to be ok, nothing different or out of the ordinary for me in Neptune area. I also have Saturn squaring my pisces sun 21 degrees for awhile now and that is the one that sucks. In a few years Neptune will conjunct my sun and then my midheaven.

  38. Oh yeah, Neptune on the Descendant, between my Sun and Venus, opposing my Viego moon. I guess I have a drinking problem but I don’t care. I have these intense dreams and constant (chronic) synchronicity so much so it has become overwhelming because of lack of actual meaning or something to DO with it all. Yes, lost, but acquiescing and transcending also as much as the Virgo in me will allow. Enjoying nihilism also.

  39. I made a very unwise relocation under a Neptune opposite Sun transit (add to the mix a Pluto/Moon transit at the same time, which set the stage for the absolutely horrendous Uranus/Pluto square to my Moon and later my MC).

Exactly like you said Elsa, it was an astrologer I had consulted who encouraged me to make the move, that the time was ripe. Not once during the consultation did they mention the Neptune transit. Of course I have to take full responsibility for my actions, in the end I made the decision. But definitely, I was vulnerable.

I have Mercury square Neptune natally, and cloudy thinking is the order of the day at the best of times (but I do pick up subtle vibes and expressions where most don’t). I understand the fog, all too well. My Virgo Sun/Cap Moon barely uttered a peep during the whole process.

  40. This post could not have come at a better time, in fact it is synchronous. From a Virgo, too! I’m rubbing my hands (metaphorically) with glee as I warm to the task of touching on the Neptune transit I’ve had, and just those kinds of events Elsa has described. I have Mercury in Pisces and Neptune has been in a conjunction oh, for a while now. The upside of this is that I also have Pluto opposite, so discernment is really important to me, and I’m always scanning a person’s motives if they seem a little suspect to me. I use psychic tools quite often, and that includes occasional consultations, which are invariably very helpful. But sometimes, and on a particular occasion, the consultation was laced with something completely off which I know was not true, and put the person delivering it into doubt. I hadn’t even noticed it in the recording at first because the sound quality was not good at the time, but it dawned on me that this person was not perhaps all that they were purported to be. It was quite subtle. Now, she still sends communications soliciting me for further ‘sessions’, which calls to mind something a Gemini friend once told me, ‘Beware of psychics attempting to use you as a cash cow’. Fortunately, I’m surrounded by Virgo people and their energy – and they are the ones who are able to call out Neptunian duplicity or whatever in various situations. And I feel my natal Pluto stands like a guard dog (like Cerberus!) at any incoming potential to poison the well of the mind. Very, very true, about the idea of a psychic trying to trick you into believing your life is out of your hands.

  41. When Neptune transited my cap Asc I swear I felt like I was melting…. Or I was just a cloud of molecules being blown from here to there…

I couldn’t find clarity or certainty for what seemed like forever.

Surrender, trust, serve, aspire….it was a process of learning to tune my inner radio to my ownTruth. Yes, good to have an earth person to check with, but it really is all about learning to hear your truth, know what is right in that moment. No doubt about that at all!

  42. Being a super Virgo Sixth house gal and having Neptune opposing my sun back and forth for forever I am beginning feel how much I need that ethereal to help avoid the effiecency box I have been plagued with since birth. I am a servantfor sure but not a slave. The ethereal realms are so important and hopefully without drugs. The shear density of the Mercury mind can really be a downer trap.

  43. Thanks, Elsa, for reminding us that earthy people, especially those who can discern things and reality (virgo, saturnians/capricorns), are amazing resources in one’s life during such transits.

My previous big neptune transits (transiting neptune square ascendant first, then conjunct venus, and then conjunct mercury before conjuncting the IC) were one after the other, and at the time it felt like I was living in a garden maze with plenty of nice food and wine and no rush to get out of it!

Although lots was lost those years, I didn’t lose all those years entirely as after the disolving (neptune) of some parts of my identity and dealing with various self-illusions and illusion about the world, I had transiting uranus conjunct my sun and strong insights about my life vocation came suddenly. I woke up and slowly got myself out of my dream/maze (it took a bit.)

Currently having my neptune square neptune transit, soon transiting neptune will square my moon and later it will conjunct my sun. Yey!! Fun times (not).

Normally quite neptunian with saturnian aspects (luckily if not I’d be washed in a beach, who knows?), now I feel more prepared for this second round of important transits.

Realistic people, and discerning good friends are at hand, and this time I will listen to their views while my neptunian and pisces moon friends can swim with me as we try not to drown…

  44. Not a transit but I have Mercury conjunct Neptune and up until I was about 26 I would be totally susceptible to what my sister would say. Half of my identity was based on what she said I was like. She’s a master manipulator with Mars conjunct Pluto in Libra and she didn’t always use it well so it took some harsh Saturn transits to set proper boundaries. Tr. Neptune is currently squaring my Sun and Uranus so I’m probably susceptible now too. In fact I’m in the midst of an identity and existential crisis lol. Glad I’ve never used any other than Elsa and psychiatric nurse For outside helposti so no BS from anyone outside my immediate circles.

  45. I am in the midst of a Neptune oppose Moon transit and it has been on going for a while and will be here for a few more years. I will say that my spirituality has been very pronounced for me. My dreams are increasing as well as my intuitive awareness. I have a keen sense of just ‘knowing’ something. Difficult to describe, but then again, it is Neptune, so how can one get a grip on fog? Sometimes the fog does clear enough to make things out, but I have found that it drives me deeper inside to find those answers. A rose is not always a rose. Luckily I have Saturn helping out, a true gift. I am loving the creative aspect of Neptune transiting my 5th house as I am an artist and my recent work shows of the depths I am working at. I have a good relationship with my Neptune/Saturn conjunction in my 12th, it just wasn’t always in clear view! Ha…I know, such a fitting statement for this aspect! It has been a good for one me so far.

  46. Neptune transiting the first house. Sudden tiredness, lucid, dramatic dreaming and a preference for lighter forms of exercise like yoga and aquatics. Shaggier appearance and some weight gain(unusual). Spiritual/occult leanings, reading, travel and renewed love for nature and pets. Solitude.

  47. Transit Neptune conjunct Mercury pretty much blows. I am more spaced out than ever and that is really spaced out considering how much Pisces I have. I can’t focus and I am forgetting things left and right. I just hope it’s really Neptune and I don’t have dementia. That is all.

  48. Oh… I have Sun in early Virgo, Mercuryy and Chiron in mid Virgo. I’ve been affected by this Neptune transit since 2012. I can’t even remember how I felt before that lol.
