There’s been so much talk about this month’s difficult transits: Mercury retrograde opposing Uranus, the Sun in Libra squaring Mars and the planets in Capricorn, a spooky Halloween Full Moon. But when I was looking at the transits today, I noticed something that has not gotten nearly enough attention – a lovely Grand Trine in earth!
Venus in Virgo is trine Uranus in Taurus and Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn in Capricorn. The aspects aren’t especially tight, but with so much hardship, it’s wonderful to see a little bit of support out there. This is especially interesting given that the two benefics, Venus and Jupiter, are both in the signs of their fall. Neither is doing so great, but they’re here to help each other.
It reminds me of one of my favorite episodes of The Golden Girls, “A Midwinter Night’s Dream.” In it, Dorothy is put under a curse and Sophia, her mother, must complete three tasks to break it:
1. Kiss a fool,
2. Help a holy man, and
3. Reveal the betrayal of a loved one.
And each of those things is reflected in the sky right now, all driven by Venus!
1. Venus opposing Neptune is the perfect symbol of kissing a fool. Venus is the cosmic kiss, and Neptune turns us all into fools.
2. Venus trine Jupiter is helping the holy man. Jupiter is the guru, the priest, and the seeker. Here, Venus lends a bit of her beauty and light to ease Jupiter’s journey through the sign of his fall.
3. Venus, the loved one is trine Pluto, the betrayer. Venus is also sextile Mercury in Scorpio, who reveals hidden information.
And with that, the curse is broken! It’s admittedly a lot of heavy lifting for poor Venus, especially while in her least favorite sign, but the trines show that she is more than equipped to deal with it. So if you find yourself struggling in the next few days, try to lean on Venus as a guide. Clean your home, tend to your body, and allow yourself a few indulgences. Ground yourself in the here and now and let the chips fall as they may. You’re likely to find a lot more support than you’d expect.
Has anyone been enjoying this grand trine? What have you done to take care of yourself?
